Raveena Ravi calls out her harasser online
Actress and dubbing artiste Raveena Ravi went public about allegedly being harassed online for nearly three years on Thursday. Sharing screenshots of abusive messages sent not only to her but also to her family and friends, the actress stated that the harassers were an individual named Sabarish and his twin brother.
Speaking about how it began, the Love Today actress says, “I was contacted on Instagram in 2023 by this person. I’ve not responded to him even once. I have all the chats. Since then, I’ve been blocking all his approaches through fake accounts. He just didn’t stop.”
“After my complaint, in 2024, the police tracked him and arrested. He was silent for a year. Now, he’s started again,” she shares.
The actress also says, “He has been living in his own world, thinking that we are together and going to get married. Also, he says that he’s been engaged to Aparna Balamurli. He has texted my friends that he is engaged to me.”
The actress says there has also been victim blaming after she spoke out. “As usual, girls are asked the same question: ‘Why after three years?’ I posted a screenshot in my Story of a comment that read, ‘They must have stopped giving money to her; that’s why she has posted now.’ Then, he sent a personal message, ‘Akka, sorry. I’ll delete it,’ and he deleted it.”
‘His father called my mom and apologised’Raveena shares, “After my post, his father called my mom and apologised. He said, ‘Please remove it. That’s my son’s future. Also he is a bit mentally sick.’ We also knew that, and that’s exactly why we didn’t post it earlier and kept quiet for three years. But after a point, I had no other choice. Unless and until we give a warning, he’ll not stop.”
