Nithya Menen set to wear the director's hat? Filmmaker Pandiraaj reveals actor has already written two scripts
Known for seamlessly moving between Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema, Nithya Menen may soon be adding another title to her résumé. If filmmaker Pandiraaj's recent remarks are anything to go by, the actor is preparing to step into the world of direction. The revelation came from Pandiraaj, who worked with Nithya on last year's 'Thalaivan Thalaivii', which also featured Vijay Sethupathi in a prominent role.

A conversation that revealed bigger plans

As stated by Cinema Express, speaking in a recent interview, Pandiraaj shared details of a conversation he had with the actor while discussing his latest release."She is very sweet. Even now she had promoted 'Parimala and Co' on her social media handles and wished me. During the same conversation, she contacted me, asking how my work is going. When I probed her on her next film, Nithya revealed that she has started begun writing and is looking at becoming a director," Pandiraaj said. The statement has sparked curiosity among fans, many of whom have long admired Nithya's creative instincts beyond acting.

Pandiraaj's praise for Nithya's storytelling skills

Pandiraaj did not stop at revealing her aspirations. The filmmaker also spoke highly of Nithya's ability as a writer, recalling their interactions during the making of 'Thalaivan Thalaivii'.
"She is a wonderful writer. When we were working together, I have narrated four films to her. When fight scenes are ongoing, I would sit with her and share stories. Nithya isn't just a good actor, she will soon become a great writer and a director," he added.According to the director, her understanding of storytelling extends well beyond performance, making a transition to filmmaking seem like a natural progression.Earlier this year, Nithya Menen took a significant step toward creative independence by launching her own production house, Keyuri Production. The move fuelled speculation that the actor was interested in exploring opportunities behind the scenes as well. With writing reportedly underway, industry observers believe her directorial ambitions may not be far from becoming reality.

Nithya Menon's recent projects

On the acting front, Nithya was last seen in 'Idli Kadai', headlined by Dhanush. She also featured in 'Thalaivan Thalaivii', which received mixed reactions from critics but performed well commercially.Meanwhile, Pandiraaj is occupied with the theatrical run of his latest film, 'Parimala and Co'. The black-comedy thriller reunites Jayaram and Urvashi on screen after two decades and also stars Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy, Santosh Sobhan, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, and Ananthika Sanilkumar. For now, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether Nithya Menen's next creative milestone arrives not as an actor, but as the filmmaker calling the shots from behind the camera.
