Birthday special! Vennela Kishore: The rise of the comedy superstar

Vennela Kishore has become one of the top-notch comedy stars in Tollywood today. He introduced genuine comedy among his co-comedians. Some actors would like to work in comedy, not because of the money, but because they enjoy making people laugh. Vennela Kishore is apparently one among them. Vennela Kishore studied Masters in Information Systems, Ferris State University, Michigan and started his career as a software quality engineer in the US. He found out his sense of humour while talking to his friends and well-wishers and forayed into the film industry with their encouragement. While he was doing his job, the comedian got an opportunity to act in the Deva Katta directorial debut ‘Vennela’, which was named after his prefix. In fact, his real name is Bokkala Kishore Kumar. This is no exaggeration, he deserved it.

With ‘Dookudu’s mega success, there is no turning back for Vennela Kishore, who's slowly but steadily acquiring the status of a comedy superstar. He played one of the police team members named MS Sastry, who gives some comedy relief along with several comedians such as MS Narayana, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam and Srinivasa Reddy in the film to be directed by Sreenu Vaitla. In fact, the Mahesh Babu starrer contains a hefty dose of comedy. As an actor, his forte is the comedy with no holds barred.

His comedies give a truthful and interesting picture of the current society, especially his best comedy, ‘Geetha Govindam’, in which he has played a bridegroom who is an NRI software. The film contains, especially in the pre-climax, some wonderful slapstick comedy done by Vennela Kishore. He succeeded in playing out the comedy within no time in the Parasuram directorial. At last, the Vijay Devarakonda starrer was billed as a romantic comedy and was worth seeing. He came to be considered as a real comedian with this film.
