We take look at which of these films will win the box office race

Dussehra is upon us, and Tollywood is gearing up for a slew of releases. With the outstanding success of 'RRR', 'Pushpa: The Rise' and 'Karthikeya 2', an increasing number of top South stars are vying for Hindi releases of their films across pan-India to gain a more mass appeal. This time Dussehra, (October 5) will see the clash of Mohan Raja’s political action-drama 'God Father' starring Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan, and Praveen Sattaru’s 'The Ghost' starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Sonal Chauhan as both films are trying to cash in on a Dussehra release.

Now, since the makers have made up their mind and both the films – 'God Father' and 'The Ghost' - are set to clash at theatres, we look at who will win the box office war this Dussehra:

Sky-high expectations

'God Father' is directed by Mohan Raja, who has helmed Hanuman Junction, Velayudham, Santosh Subramaniam and Thani Oruvan. 'The Ghost' is directed by Praveen Sattaru, who is best known for his films, such as Chandamama Kathalu and PSV Garuda Vega. The expectations are sky-high for these both movies. With big films releasing on the big screen, theatres might see a rush of movie buffs.

Budget

'God Father' is made on a mighty budget of Rs 100 crore. It is expected to be a powerful action entertainer. The craze is building up among fans who are eagerly waiting for the movie. The Ghost’s budget isn’t as big as that of God Father’s. However, analysts are predicting that these films could very well be the biggest blockbusters this year.

Pan India release

Apart from Telugu, 'The Ghost' will also be released in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. 'God Father' will target the Telugu and Hindi-speaking audience and will be released only in Telugu and Hindi since it is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Lucifer. Since 'The Ghost' will release in different languages and is also starring actors from across the country, it will cater to a Pan-India audience. 'God Father' will also have an advantage of big stars, including Chiru, Salman, Nayanthara and Samuthirakani, among others.

Gripping story

'God Father' follows the story of a mysterious man who steps in to ascend the throne after a major power struggle occurs when the leader of a political party passes away, in the midst of the chaos. 'The Ghost' is the story of a retired RAW field operative who is now working in the Indian Embassy and receives a call from his sister Anu, who requests him to protect her daughter Aditi. Vikram decides to protect Aditi and wages a war against the crime syndicate, which has been terrorizing them. Fans of the respective films believe that the two films are from different genres, which have their own set of audiences.
