Despite having the perfect blend of all the above, Visakhapatnam-born Pujita Ponnada is still looking forward to that one big success that could catapult her into the big league of South cinema. She is one among the few Telugu girls who are gradually creating an impact in Tollywood.

After making waves in the short film circuit, Pujita Ponnada stepped foot into Telugu cinema with director Sukumar’s second production venture Darsakudu. Though the film didn’t work at the ticket counters, she delivered an impressive performance which caught the attention of many. After playing supporting roles in Brand Babu, 7 and Rajasekhar’s Kalki, the former software engineer is looking forward to exploring different roles in South cinema as well as Bollywood. Pujita Ponnada was born into a Telugu-speaking family in Visakhapatnam. Due to her dad’s profession, she spent her formative years in Chennai and at present, her family members reside in Mumbai. After wrapping up her education, she moved to Hyderabad to pursue a software job and got attracted to short films. After garnering fame with a queue of successful short subjects, the gorgeous gal made her silver screen debut in 2017. However, during the initial part of her showbiz career, she kept her job as a backup.

Spellbound by her convincing performance in ‘Parichayam’ (short film), Sukumar appreciated Pujitha and offered her a pivotal role in Darsakudu. Despite the film bombed at the box-office, the young actress delivered a commendable performance in the role of Shailu and within a short time, Sukumar once again encouraged her by offering a meaty role in Rangasthalam. She considers the talented filmmaker as her mentor.

After featuring in quite a few films, Pujita Ponnada has decided to quit her job and focus solely on her acting career. Opening up on the decision, she said “Along with my parents, I had to convince myself and that’s most important. Once you enjoy the taste of cinema, it’s so tempting that you can’t go away from it. It’s like a drug.” She also admits that the short film experience made her feel comfortable in front of the camera and look perfect.

Pujitha enjoys a good following on social media platforms like Instagram and she is pretty famous for her drool-worthy photo-shoots. Right from an ethnic saree, floral jacket, lehenga to voluptuous outfits, she knows how to pull off any attire with utmost grace. Her latest photo-session in a hot black gown is doing the rounds on the internet and the bombshell didn’t disappoint.

Last year, grapevine was abuzz with rumours of a relationship between Devi Sri Prasad and Pujita Ponnada. Admitting that she had indeed heard about the baseless talk, the ravishing beauty thrashed all those rumours in style. She said “I had never met DSP sir until the 100-day celebrations of Rangasthalam and rumours started to creep even before the release of the film. So, these are all baseless talks.”
