Janhvi Kapoor talks about her airport experience
In a conversation with IANS, the ‘Devara’ actress revealed that she was recently in America when she noticed how popular Ram Charan and ‘RRR’ have become across the world. She said that even immigration officers at airports often bring up the names of Ram Charan and Jr NTR when they learn that she is an actress.
Sharing her experience, Janhvi said, “I was just in America recently, and I have to tell everyone that the reference point for Indians right now is you. Even at immigration, they ask, ‘Are you an actor?’ and I say, ‘Yes, I am an actor.’ Then they go like, ‘Oh yes, RRR… Ram Charan… NTR,’ and I’m like, ‘Sure!’”
‘RRR’ global recognition
Released in 2022, ‘RRR’ directed by SS Rajamouli starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan which achieved huge global success and international critical acclaim. ‘Naatu Naatu’ also won the Best Original Song at the 95th Oscars.
Speaking of ‘Peddi’, the film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s second Telugu outing and interestingly has a connection with the ‘RRR’ star cast as her first projects remains Jr NTR starrer ‘Devara’ playing the female lead.
About ‘Peddi’
‘Peddi’ is a village based drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana where the actor is seen as a “crossover athlete” who inspires and fights for the oppressed through sports and spirit.
The film includes Divyenndu, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan and Boman Irani among others.
It is set to release on June 4, with premier shows planned for June 3.
