Mahesh Babu nails it as an Army Commando in Sarileru Neekevvaru; here are the actors who have nailed the military look!

'Men in uniform' seems to be the new trend in Indian cinema nowadays. Almost all A-list actors have donned the military uniform atleast once in his career and the latest to join the league is none other than superstar Mahesh Babu. The 44-year-old will be essaying the role of an army officer in his next film Sarileru Neekevvaru.

Directed by successful director Anil Ravipudi, the teaser of the actioner is loaded with hero-elevating sequences, thumping BGM, striking dialogues, high-octane action and the rocking screen-presence of the superstar who literally steals the show as an Army Commando. On a special note, here's a list of actors who have taken up the role of military personnel and absolutely nailed it!

Mahesh Babu (Sarileru Neekevvaru) is playing the role of Major Ajay Krishna in his upcoming actioner “Sarileru Neekevvaru”. The film's teaser was released two days ago and it took the internet by storm. The 86-second clip has accumulated 21 million views in just two days. Meanwhile, hardcore fans of Mahesh Babu have erected a gigantic 81-ft cut out of the actor at the popular Sudarshan 35 MM Theater at RTC X roads in Hyderabad. This seems to be the first time where a massive cut out of a hero is placed long before the release of the film.

Vicky Kushal (Uri-The Surgical Strike) rose to fame with the powerful role of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill in Uri. The film based on the real Uri Surgical strike was appreciated by everyone for its authentic portrayal of military operations and audiences too loved Vicky Kushal's character's no-nonsense attitude.

Akshay Kumar (Holiday: A soldier is never off duty) has slipped into the uniform multiple times but his most appreciated performance came in 2014 hit “Holiday - A soldier is never off duty”. The film was the official remake of Tamil film Thuppakki starring Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal. Akshay Kumar also gets to show off his action moves in the film.

Shahrukh Khan (Jab Tak Hai Jaan) is known as the King of romance but once in a while he does take up serious roles which are contrary to his popular image of ‘King of romance’. The Baadshah of Bollywood played the role of an Army officer who specializes in bomb defusing in Yash Raj’s “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. Though essentially it was a romantic drama, his character was very unlike his previous films.

John Abraham (Parmanu): With a physique that perfectly suits the Army character, it was just a matter of time that John Abraham is going to wear an army uniform on the silver screen. And, he did it with Parmanu. The film tells the story of India's nuclear test at Pokhran. John played the role of Captain Ashwat Rana who led the entire operation.
