Ram Gopal Varma hails ‘Dhurandhar, calls the film a 'SCARY DOG and HORROR film filmmakers can’t ignore
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma recently shared his strong thoughts about the latest spy action crime film ‘Dhurandhar’ starring Ranveer Singh, directed by Aditya Dhar. He called the film a “game changer,” and the film industry cannot act like they did not see it.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, RGV wrote, “Whenever a pathbreaking and monstrous hit like #dhurandhar comes, the industry people will wish to ignore it because they will feel threatened by it due to their inability to match its standards.”
RGV used a funny example. He said ‘Dhurandhar’ is like a big scary dog in someone’s home. Even if the owner says the dog will not bite, people will still keep watching it secretly and be scared. He said this movie will stay in the minds of filmmakers just like that dog. He wrote, “They will try their level best to even avoid uttering the dog’s name, but it will keep loitering in all their minds.”
He also said this film is not about showing heroes. It shows the film itself as the hero. He wrote, “To that extent #dhurandhar will actually be like a HORROR film for all those makers who believed in the earlier template.”
In another tweet, he also added, “#Dhurandhar will be like a HORROR FILM for all those FILM MAKERS who do not have the ability to make a film with such BRILLIANCE, INTELLIGENCE, INTEGRITY, and CRAFT.”
The movie stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles.

Big films are still using old formulas
The ‘Satya’ director said many big films that are now being made are scared. He said they were all planned before ‘Dhurandhar’ was released. So they were made using old ideas.RGV calls the film a “Scary Dog” filmmakers can’t ignore
He added, “So they will think of it as a nightmare, which will vanish when they wake up in their own films. This is even more true of all the so-called pan-India biggies, which are right now under various stages of production. They were all written and mounted, modeled on the films made before #dhurandhar, which is the exact opposite of what they all believed would work. What’s even more worrisome is that #dhurandhar, apart from being an omega hit, also is the most discussed film of the last 50 years.”He also said this film is not about showing heroes. It shows the film itself as the hero. He wrote, “To that extent #dhurandhar will actually be like a HORROR film for all those makers who believed in the earlier template.”
‘Dhurandhar’ dominates the box office.
Meanwhile, ‘Dhurandhar’ has been roaring at the box office, as it has made over Rs 612.22 crore in India in 21 days, as per a report by Sacnilk. The movie stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles.
