Twitter reviews for 'Sing Geetham'
Several viewers praised the makers for attempting a fresh and unconventional concept rarely seen in mainstream Telugu cinema.
One review stated, "#SingGeetham Unique concept with its ups and downs, but deserves a try! A genuinely unique attempt that takes time to find its footing. The musical aspect works initially but starts to feel stretched in the middle portions, while the comedy only lands in bits. However, the film’s core lies in the emotional second half, and from the flashback till the climax, the emotional payoffs land well. DSP’s music is the film’s biggest backbone and this is his best work in recent times. Kudos to Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and the Vyjayanthi team for attempting an unconventional concept like this.
May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but its uniqueness and emotional payoffs make it a decent watch that deserves a try.
Rating: 2.75/5."
Devi Sri Prasad's music gets strong response
A large section of viewers singled out Devi Sri Prasad's work as one of the film's biggest strengths.
Another review read, "A true 'Singeetham Cinema' One of the most unique attempts in recent Telugu cinema, blending mystery, fantasy, and a meaningful social message with #SingeethamSrinivasaRao's signature touch all over. @ThisIsDSP is the heart of the film. From the songs and background score to the innovative dialogue-song format, #DeviSriPrasad delivers his best work."
The review further read, "If you're ready for a film that unfolds largely through dialogue-songs, you'll enjoy the experiment. Though for some, it may feel a bit exhausting at times. While the first half may not completely appeal to everyone, the film truly comes into its own in the second half."
Emotional second half receives appreciation
Many viewers felt the film became stronger as it progressed.
One review read, "From the flashback portion onwards, especially in the last 30 minutes, every craft comes together brilliantly, with DSP dominating the proceedings and carrying the film to a beautifully emotional climax. The entire cast performs well, and the special appearances are neatly placed. There is a lot of VFX work involved. It is a bit underwhelming at places, but they get the job done. This movie is a beautiful reminder of Singeetham's unique cinematic voice and the gift he has been to Telugu cinema. If you're looking for something refreshingly different, Sing Geetham is worth experiencing on the big screen."
One viewer wrote, "#SingGeetham. A proper Disney-style princess fantasy drama. The film peaks right from its setting and title card, creating an instantly magical atmosphere. Post that, it takes a little patience to get accustomed to the musical storytelling, something we aren’t often exposed to. The first half feels a bit tiring in that regard, but once the plot thickens in the second half, none of that matters. The emotions land beautifully and carry the film home. And through it all, it’s @ThisIsDSP in full rampage mode. GOOD WATCH."
While audience reactions indicate that the film's experimental storytelling may not appeal to everyone, many have appreciated its originality, emotional depth and musical presentation.
With the release of 'Sing Geetham', Singeetam Srinivasa Rao has surpassed Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood to become the world's oldest active filmmaker at the age of 94.
