Summer Re-Run: 'RRR', 'Manam'; Telugu blockbusters set to return to theaters

As the summer season kicks in, Telugu cinema enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to with the re-release of some iconic films in theaters. From riveting courtroom dramas to epic historical tales, their makers have decided to re-run some of their best.

Directed by Venu Sriram, 'Vakeel Saab' is a powerful courtroom drama that revolves around the story of a former lawyer who fights for justice against societal norms and discrimination. Starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, the movie includes Nivetha Thomas, Shruti Haasan, and Ananya Nagalla and has a compelling narrative on women's rights and empowerment. The movie is also a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Hindi film 'Pink'. The film was re-released on May 1st.

The global sensation from the makers of Baahubali, 'RRR', directed by SS Rajamouli, has made headlines since its release. Set in the pre-independence era, 'RRR' is an epic historical drama that follows the tale of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Featuring a mega cast including Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, the film promises breathtaking action sequences and high-quality VFX. The Hindi dub of the film will be re-released on May 10th.

'Manam' is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and reincarnation. Directed by Vikram Kumar, the film features three generations of the iconic Akkineni family: Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, and the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Shriya Saran. As the film marks 10 years since its release, it will now be seen back in theaters on May 23, 2024.

'Leader' is a political drama that follows the journey of a young and idealistic politician who strives to bring about positive change in society. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film stars Rana Daggubati, Richa Gangopadhyay, and Priya Anand in pivotal roles. The movie will be re-released on May 9th, 2024.

'Jersey' is a heart-rending sports drama that centers around the story of a talented cricketer who struggles to make a comeback into the game for the sake of his son. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film stars Nani, Shraddha Srinath, and Sathyaraj in key roles. The movie was re-released on April 20th. It was later also re-made in Hindi and starred Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur.
