Since the past few decades, beauty pageants have delivered many talented actresses both in Bollywood and regional cinema. While most of them tasted success and stardom, some divas failed to strike a chord on the silver screen. Sometimes, these beauty pageants are considered as a ticket to the showbiz arena as several leading divas have kicked-off their film careers after being crowned as Miss State, Miss India, Miss World or Miss Universe. The latest beauty to join the bandwagon is ‘2017 Miss India Telangana’ Simran Choudhary. After enjoying a fruitful stint in beauty pageants, the Hyderabad-born diva rose to fame by essaying a cameo in Tharun Bhascker’s Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. Finally, after much effort, she has been finalised as one of the leading ladies opposite Nithiin in Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s upcoming film. Simran Choudhary was born to Rajasthani parents in Hyderabad. Upon wrapping up her education in the city itself, she decided to test her fate both in modelling and acting. During her Intermediate itself, she played the cameo role of Allu Arjun’s friend in Varudu and within a couple of years; she was roped in as the female lead in the 2014 romantic-comedy Hum Tum. However, the small-budget film tanked without a trace at the ticket counters.

Right from her childhood, Simran has been an active participant in dancing, singing and basketball. She emerged as the title winner in several beauty pageants like Little Miss & Master Hyderabad and Tollywood Miss Hyderabad. Though north-Indian by birth, the leggy lass admits that she is a typical South Indian and Hyderabadi by heart. She feels proud having won the coveted title of Miss India Telangana from the state.

Simran Choudhary represented the Telangana state at the 54th edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant held in Mumbai. She even bagged the subtitle of Miss Talented at the prestigious fashion event. After a gap of four long years, she returned to Tollywood with a cameo in Tharun Bhascker’s buddy-comedy Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and made her presence felt. Earlier this year, she was roped in as the female lead in an untitled romcom alongside Sai Sushanth and Chandini Chowdary.

After surviving for quite a few years in the tinsel town, Simran has finally bagged her maiden big-ticket film. She will play one of the leading ladies opposite Nithiin in versatile director Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s upcoming film. Impressed by her audition, Telugu language and screen test, the 46-year-old filmmaker roped in the hot beauty to play the role of an artiste in the film. The project will go on floors once Nithiin is done with his present commitments.

Besides being a thorough professional in dance, Simran Choudhary possesses some serious skills in basketball, horse riding and singing. She is keen on raising the voice for animals by contributing to the charitable trusts standing against animal abuse. She hopes to open up her own animal shelter someday.
