Tollywood actors who portrayed politicians on-screen successfully

The subject of politics has always been an inspiration for several filmmakers with Tollywood churning out political backdrop films based on some real incidents that occurred in the society. Even some of the actors have their own interest in doing politicians in films yet have often refrained from imitating them in order to avoid controversies. There are multiple actors came up with playing the politicians on the silver screen and here're six actors who have portrayed them on-screen successfully.

2/7

Mahesh Babu

Mahesh Babu portrayed the Chief Minister in the Koratala Siva directorial Bharat Ane Nenu. If this film has taught us anything, it's obviously an outstanding performance by Mahesh Babu. We'd also like to thank the director Koratala Siva for making such an influential film, deals with the empowerment of accountability and responsibility for the society. The plot thickens when Bharat played by Mahesh joins his father's responsibility for the state. It has a massive star cast including Kiara Advani, Prakash Raj, Ra Sarathkumar, Devraj, Aamani, Sithara, Posani Krishna Murali, Jayalalitha, Sachin Khedekar, Anish Kuruvilla, Rahul Ramakrishna and Rao Ramesh.

Rana Daggubati

Rana Daggubati made his acting debut with the political drama Leader to be directed by Sekhar Kammula. The story is about how Arjun played by Rana tries to put an end to the corruption as a Chief Minister by stepping his father's shoes. Leader was critically acclaimed and did well at the box office. Bankrolled by AVM Productions, the film also features Priya Anand, Richa Gangopadhyay, Tanikella Bharani, Rao Ramesh, Ahuti Prasad, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Subbaraju, Harsha Vardhan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Suman and Gollapudi Maruti Rao in crucial roles.
