Raashii Khanna is gearing up for the release of the upcoming
Pawan Kalyan ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, which is set to hit the big screens early morning tomorrow. Recently, the actress spoke about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and how such situations can also affect the film industry.
While speaking with Gulte, Raashii Khanna said she had recently spoken with a friend about the future of movies. She explained that global problems like war can slowly affect people’s daily lives and also their spending. “A war has begun, and I don’t know how people are realising that we’re going to face inflation in the future,” said the ‘Yodha’ actress.
Movies a luxury for many people
Raashii Khanna said that when people face money problems, entertainment becomes less important. She spoke about her own background and how she understands this feeling very well. “After that, because there’s a shortage of money…Because I grew up in a middle-class family, I know films are like a luxury,” she said.
Raashii Khanna believes small and medium films will struggle
She explained that when families have less money, they will first spend it on basic needs. Watching films in theatres may not be their first choice during tough times. “When there’s no money, films will not be our first priority. Already, people are not going to the theatres to watch films. Unless it’s a big film,” she added.
Talking about the future, Raashii Khanna also shared that OTT platforms may become stronger. She said, “Small and medium films will suffer, OTT will become more powerful, that’s the future.”
On the work front, she was last seen in ‘Telusu Kada’. She will next appear in ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ with Pawan Kalyan and Sreeleela. The film is set to release in theatres on March 19, and premier shows are set to start early morning from tomorrow. It is set for a box office clash with Ranveer Sing’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’.
Raashii Khanna has several projects lined up in Tamil and Hindi cinema. Additionally, she will be seen in the second season of the series ‘Farzi’, where she stars opposite Shahid Kapoor.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
