Internet baffled as Tamil Nadu man builds temple for an Alien God with an 11-foot underground idol
A short video from Tamil Nadu has quickly become one of the most shared clips online this week, mainly because of a temple unlike anything people expected to see. The clip shows a space in Salem district dedicated to what its creator describes as an Alien God, and the unusual idea has immediately drawn mixed reactions from viewers. As more people come across the video, the concept continues to spark discussions about belief, faith and how new themes keep entering public conversations.
A unique structure in Salem
According to a report by ABP Live and ABP Nadu, the temple has been set up in the Mallamupampatti area of Salem by Siddar Pakiya. The standout feature of the space is an idol placed inside a cellar that goes 11 feet underground.
While there are also idols of Shiva, Parvati, Murugan and Kali, the focus has shifted to the Alien God statue because of the idea surrounding it, according to the report. The layout does not resemble a conventional temple, which has added to the curiosity around it.
Pakiya explains his belief
According to the ABP report, Pakiya calls himself a visionary and says the idol was placed in the cellar only after obtaining permission from the extraterrestrial entity itself. He believes extraterrestrial beings appeared long before humans and says their presence on Earth is increasing, even though he claims this is not openly discussed by governments.
His explanation about the deity has been widely noted:
As quoted by ABP, Pakiya said, “Aliens are the first cosmic deities created by Shiva in the universe. Worshipping them can elevate one's life, form, and career. I have personally encountered aliens in psychic form; they have come and spoken to me twice. This is real, and the world needs to believe it.”
According to him, these beings will reveal themselves more clearly in the future, and he believes people will eventually understand their significance, as reported by ABP.
Video tour of the cellar gains attention
The viral clip shows a man walking viewers through the temple and pointing out the black statue placed underground. The caption also mentions the exact address of the temple, which helped more people trace the location and watch the video.
Soon after the clip surfaced, social media users began sharing their reactions.
Online comments reflect mixed reactions
Online reactions to the video have been a mix of humour, curiosity and confusion. Many viewers were surprised by the concept and shared their thoughts in a light-hearted tone.
One person joked, “Meanwhile, Area 51 laughing in the corner,” while another wrote, “Next all Avengers characters like nine planets.”
Others expressed disbelief. A viewer commented, “We are running backwards,” and another simply said, “This is madness. What else to say?”
Together, these reactions show how unusual and unexpected the idea feels to people encountering it for the first time.
