Putraraju Lover of Shashikala is a cute love of school students with a subtle message The film gets off to a breezy start, with the protagonist, Puttaraju, starts narrating a love story from his school days, which takes place in the backdrop of a picturesque village that is filled with all the antics. Puttaraju tries every trick in the book to woo his classmate, Shashikala, but she has to leave school after her father gets transferred to Shivamogga.Puttaraju doesn't lose heart and falls in love with another girl named Shashikala who joins his school. Incidentally, Shashikala and Puttaraju had spent their childhood together. Their relationship blossoms when they prepare for a kho kho tournament together. What happens when their parents get to know about their relationship? Puttaraju's classmate, Chandra, brings a twist to the tale.Director Sahadev has tried out romantic and emotional formula, with a message that fails to keep one engaging. The movie, which unfurls in a school, should have been deeper to make it to more appealing. If there was more life in the characters, the film would have made for an interesting watch. Naresh Dingri as Kaldi Seena breathes life into the subject with his comic acts. Newbies Amith Gowda, Jayashree Ardhya and Susmitha Siddappa stands out with their performances.
