PM Modi Pushes Major Austerity Drive, Orders Reduction In Convoy Size And Fuel Consumption Measures

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly instructed the SPG to reduce the size of his convoy by nearly 50 percent as part of a wider austerity initiative. Government departments are also preparing fuel-saving and expenditure-cutting measures, including increased Metro usage, carpooling and reducing large official events. The move is being projected as a symbolic message on efficiency, restraint and responsible governance.
