4 hurt as BSF convoy bus hits 2 vehicles after brake failure in Ramban

JAMMU: At least four people, including two Border Security Force men, sustained minor injuries Tuesday when a bus ferrying BSF personnel for deployment on Amarnath Yatra duty collided with two other vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar NH-44 in J&K’s Ramban district.

Officials said the bus first hit a passenger vehicle before crashing into a tractor-trolley along the busy highway near Peerah. “The injured people — including ASI Sanjeet Kumar and head constable Arveen Kumar — were shifted to Ramban district hospital, where they remained under treatment. Their condition was stated as stable,” an official said.

“The accident led to the closure of NH-44’s uptube at the accident spot. Authorities immediately launched clearance operations to restore normal vehicular movement,” an official said.

Authorities initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident, officials said.
