Bankura registered the highest voter turnout among all districts with 64.73 per cent, while Prathampratima beat other constituencies to register a voter turnout of 75.15 per cent. In phase-II, a total of 30 Assembly constituencies from the districts of South 24 Parganas, Bankura, Paschim Medinipur and Purba Medinipur are going to polls.

Reacting to the slogans against her, Banerjee said: "None of the people are speaking in the Bengali language. All of them are outsiders. They are goons sent from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and they are being protected by Central forces." Banerjee further informed that 63 complaints regarding booth capturing have been sent to the Election Commission. She also personally held a discussion with governor Jagdeep Dhankhar over a call regarding the issue.

The Election Commission on Thursday sought a detailed report from the administration in connection with an incident of violence in Boyal area in Nandigram where Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee paid a visit to oversee the polling process. The West Bengal chief minister visited several booths across the high-profile Nandigram constituency, where she is pitted against her former lieutenant Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP. As soon as Banerjee reached Boyal, BJP supporters started chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans. Supporters of the two parties then indulged in violence, as TMC leaders demanded re-polling in booth number 7, police said.
