Dr Jalil Parkar, a physician at the hospital, stated that Siddique arrived in critical condition, with unrecordable pulse and blood pressure, and the ECG showed a flat line. He was declared dead at 11:27 PM.
Dr Nitin Gokhale confirmed that Siddique had two gunshot wounds, with the exact number of bullets to be determined during the postmortem. Dr. Niraj Uttamani added that Siddique was brought in unresponsive and had lost a significant amount of blood, prompting immediate resuscitation efforts.
Mumbai police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder. Additional CP Paramjit Singh Dahiya reported that the incident occurred around 9:30 PM in Nirmal Nagar, and a 9mm pistol used in the crime has been recovered.
Delhi Police will dispatch a special investigation team to Mumbai to assist in the investigation. The Mumbai Police are also exploring possible connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, given Siddique's close ties to actor Salman Khan, who has previously been targeted by the gang.

The murder of Baba Siddique ji is tragic. He was a prominent leader, and there should be no politics over this. Within 24 hours, two accused have already been arrested. CM Eknath Shinde ji himself is closely monitoring the investigation. Even Devendra Fadnavis ji has given a statement that no accused will be spared. But since it appears that some 10 to 15 days earlier Baba Siddiqui was given threats and therefore police had given protection to him, now I don't know whether those threats have some connection with yesterday's incident or not... The opposition NCP (SP) and Congress in Maharashtra on Sunday said the murder of NCP leader and former minister Baba Siddique was shocking and shameful for the state and claimed there was anarchy in Mumbai. If a leader from the ruling alliance is not safe, how can the government keep the common man safe? NCP (SP) state president Jayant Patil asked.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai late on Saturday night to meet the family of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who succumbed to bullet injuries after being shot by unidentified assailants a day earlier.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ministers, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, along with senior police officials, Union Minister and RPI(A) chief Ramdas Athawale, and Parth Pawar, son of Ajit Pawar, also visited Lilavati Hospital, where Siddique passed away.
Earlier, Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the slain NCP leader, was present at the hospital.
"The killing of Baba Siddique should be properly investigated. I just came from the hospital and met his family. Strict action must be taken against the accused," Athawale told ANI.
Pramod Hindurao, a leader from the NCP Ajit Pawar faction, said, "We have to fight against the people who commit such crimes. The party has suffered a huge loss."
Earlier on Saturday evening, CM Shinde vowed strict action against those responsible for taking the law into their own hands following the killing of Baba Siddique.

Dr Jalil Parkar, a physician at Lilavati Hospital, said, "Around 9.30 pm, Baba Siddique was brought here. When he arrived in the emergency room, his pulse and blood pressure were unrecordable, and the ECG showed a flat line. We shifted him to the ICU."
"He was declared dead around 11.27 pm. He had bullet wounds on his chest," Dr Parkar added.
Dr Nitin Gokhale, a cardiologist at the hospital, said that the exact number of bullets would be confirmed following a postmortem examination.
"Baba Siddique was brought in with no pulse or blood pressure. He had two gunshot wounds to his chest. We initiated emergency resuscitation measures and shifted him to the ICU. He was declared dead at 11:27 PM. The total number of bullets will be confirmed after the postmortem," Dr Gokhale told reporters.
Dr Niraj Uttamani of Lilavati Hospital detailed the severity of Siddique's condition upon arrival, and said, "He was brought to the emergency medical services in an unresponsive state, with no pulse, no cardiac activity, and no blood pressure, with a history of gunshot wounds. He had lost a lot of blood, and resuscitation was initiated immediately. He was then moved to the ICU, where further revival attempts were made."
"Despite all efforts, we were unable to revive him, and he was declared dead at 11.27 pm," he added.

Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan expressed deep sorrow late Saturday night over the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique, saying that the police are investigating the case, as tributes and condolences continue to pour in from political leaders.

Baba Siddique Death News Live: NCP cancels all party programmes scheduled for Sunday
The Maharashtra NCP cancelled all party programmes on Sunday in the wake of the killing of party leader Baba Siddique -- a former state Minister.
"Keeping in view the tragic death of our party colleague Baba Siddique, all party programmes for October 13, 2024 (Sunday) stand cancelled," said the party in a post on X.
NCP national president and Deputy Maharashtra Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also cancelled his Jansanman Yatra that was scheduled for Sunday at Amravati.

He further expressed confidence that the remaining suspect would soon be apprehended. "I am sure that Mumbai Police will arrest the third accused soon. Strict action will be taken against the perpetrators," Shinde added.

Baba Siddique sustained critical injuries to his chest and abdomen and was quickly transported to Lilavati Hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
