Tamil Nadu makes negative RT-PCR report mandatory for people coming from Kerala, reports ANI
Negative RT-PCR report has been made mandatory for everyone coming from Kerala to Tamil Nadu from August 5, informed Tamil Nadu health minister Ma Subramaniyan on Sunday. "RT-PCR report is mandatory for people coming from Kerala to Tamil Nadu from August 5," he said. Earlier, On July 30, Subramaniyan has said that Covid-19 cases have been increasing in the state.

Odisha logs 1,437 new Covid-19 cases, 64 fatalities
Odisha's Covid-19 caseload on Sunday surged to 9,78,705 after 1,437 more people tested positive for the infection while 64 fresh fatalities took the coastal state's toll to 5,966, a health department official said.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) director general Dr Shekhar C Mande said the next wave of Covid-19 is definitely happening, but refused to make a guess as to how and when it will strike. Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, the CSIR chief said vaccination and wearing a mask will certainly help in reducing the intensity of the third wave. Dr Mande said that they were analysing the data of surge in positive cases in Kerala. He also said the Delta plus variant of the virus was not of great concern.

Covid-19: Vaccination or not, negative test report must for travellers from Maharashtra, Kerala, says Karnataka govt

The Karnataka government on Saturday made it mandatory for people travelling from Maharashtra and Kerala to produce a negative RT-PCR test report irrespective of their vaccination status. The move, part of measures to increase pandemicrelated surveillance at entry points, follows reports of a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the neighbouring states. “It does not matter if a person travelling from these two states has taken the first vaccine dose or both jabs. The person is supposed to carry a Covid negative report, not older than 72 hours, to enter Karnataka,” said a senior official of the health department.

Over 49.49 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories (UTs) so far, through all sources, and a further 8,04,220 doses are in the pipeline, informed the Union Health Ministry on Sunday.
