Coronavirus: Maharashtra sees 6,479 new Covid cases, over 20k in Kerala

Odisha on Saturday reported 1,578 fresh cases, pushing the tally to 9,77,268, while the death toll mounted to 5,902 with 68 more fatalities, a health department official said. Kolkata: 285 booked for flouting norms

Vaccination milestone eclipsed: Karnataka administers three crore doses
Karnataka is only the sixth state to cross the milestone, and the first in south India. Uttar Pradesh tops the list, having administered 4.7 crore doses, followed by Maharashtra (4.3 crore), Gujarat and Rajasthan (3.2 crore each), and Madhya Pradesh (3 crore). Of the vaccine recipients in Karnataka, 2,36,10,569 have taken only one dose so far, while 64,01,568 are fully inoculated with both doses.

The National Health Commission said in a statement 30 of the new infections were local cases, compared with 21 the previous day. There were no new deaths. The other 25 cases were imported infections originating overseas. A majority of the local cases were reported in Jiangsu province, the authority said.
