As India's recovery rate for Covid-19 reached 84.7 per cent on Wednesday, the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have reported the highest recovery rate at 96.70 per cent, followed by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at 93.80 per cent.

13 new cases push Covid-19 tally of Andamans to 3,912

The Covid-19 tally of Andaman and Nicobar Islands rose to 3,912 on Wednesday as 13 more people tested positive for the infection, a health official said. Five new patients have travel history, while eight fresh infections were detected during contact tracing, he said.

5th legislator dies of post-Covid problems

Kailash Trivedi, a Congress MLA from Rajasthan died in a private hospital in Gurgaon on Tuesday, becoming the fifth legislator in the country to die of post-Covid complications. With Tiwari’s demise, the virus has claimed the lives of 17 serving legislators, including three MPs, 12 MLAs and two MLCs. Five of the 17 legislators had tested negative after days of treatment, but died later due to post-Covid complications.
