JAMMU: Two persons, including a Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) militant, were killed and three others injured in separate militancy-related incidents in Doda and Rajouri districts of Jammu division since Wednesday, official sources said here on Thursday.
A group of militants decended in Bhagwa village in Doda district on Wednesday night and asked the house inmates to come out, the sources said, adding that when they did not respond, the militants opened fire killing one Gul Mohammad and injuring three others of the family.
The injured were later rushed to hospital by their neighbours after the militants fled, they said.
In another incident, security forces gunned down a militant of LeT outfit, identified as Jalaludin, in Darhal area of Rajouri district on Wednesday. Recoveries from the slain militant included one AK rifle with four magazines and 100 rounds.
Militants also opened fire on a police station and a security camp in the area which was successfully retaliated, the sources said, adding that there was no casuality or damage in the cross firing.
Meanwhile, security forces in a joint operation busted a militant hideout in Paharian Wali Kassi area of Mendhar sector of Poonch district and recovered 135 rounds of ammunition, two under barrel grenade launchers (UBGL), 10 RPG rounds and one RPG booster and 13 handgrenades.
