Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Highlights: PM Modi lashed out at the INDIA bloc over a 'vote jihad' remark by a Samajwadi Party leader and their opposition to Ram Temple.
He said that Ram Lalla has found his right place in Ayodhya after 500 years but this hasn’t made these people happy.
“Some are saying that Congress wants to revoke the Supreme Court’s order on Ram Mandir while some claim that it wants to send Ram Lalla back in the tent. Will you allow it to happen?,” asked PM Modi at a poll rally in Jharkhand.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi filed nomination papers from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, seeking a third consecutive term from the constituency and hoping to win with a record margin.
PM Modi, the sitting MP and BJP's candiatate, filed his nomination papers at the district magistrate's office. Varansi will go in for polling in the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha polls on June 1. The counting of the votes will be held on June 4.
The PM was received by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Uttar Pradesh outside the Kal Bhairav temple. The Prime Minister was given a rousing welcome from people who showered flower petals and chanted slogans of 'Modi, Modi' and 'Har Har Mahadev' outside the temple.

In the last two months, the Election Commission of India has disposed of 90% of 425 complaints. Commission satisfied that overall in the last two months, the campaign space has been violence-free, less noisy, less cluttered and intrusive, free of inducement and ostentatiousness.
As a measure of enhanced transparency and disclosure, the Election Commission of India suo-motu released a second report on two months of enforcement of MCC during GE 2024. The first report was released on April 16, 2024.
The Commission led by CEC Rajiv Kumar during the last two months have taken actions with far-reaching and systemic implications in cleaning up the campaign space in the long term as against only in an episodic prescriptive manner.
The Election Commission reiterates that Star campaigners of National parties, should lead by example in the next phases and not vitiate the delicate fabric of society. Citizen-centric C Vigil app was a boon throwing up more than 4 lakh violations, all dealt quickly. Permission through Suvidha portal for political parties ensures level playing field. (ANI)

"People want to send a message": Mehbooba Mufti on record voter turnout in Srinagar
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said that the record turnout witnessed in the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency indicated that people of the Jammu and Kashmir wanted to send a message to the government at Centre in Delhi.
"Polling which was held for (Srinagar parliamentary constituency) on Monday was very good as people could not exercise their democratic right to vote in the last five years. People wanted to send a message to Delhi (government at the Centre). The decisions you took following the abrogation of article 370 related to their land, state subjects and jobs were not accepted to them," Mufti told reporters here.
"I want to ask the Election Commission that polling was slowed down at places where people had gathered in large numbers apparently to vote for the PDP," alleged the PDP leader.

Karnataka Deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar on Tuesday said he will campaign for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli.
The state Congress president also expressed confidence about the INDI Alliance coming to power in the country after the polls.
"I'm going to Raebareli for (Lok Sabha) election campaigning in Uttar Pradesh. I won't be here (Bengaluru) for two days, I'm leaving today. I have requested that no one should come (near my residence) to celebrate my birthday (May 15) and there should not be any celebrations," Shivakumar said.

Besides, Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma, Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, his Goa counterpart Pramod Sawant, Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang and his Tripura counterpart Manik Saha will also be there, they added.Rashtriya Lok Dal Chief Jayant Chaudhary, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan, Apna Dal (S) President Anupriya Patel, and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party President Om Prakash Rajbhar will also attend the nomination.

Lok Sabha election 2024:12 chief ministers to attend PM Modi's nomination from Varanasi today
Twelve Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states are expected to be present when Prime Minister Narendra Modi files his nomination for a third consecutive term from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat on Tuesday, said a BJP leader.
Besides, several Union Ministers, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, and Presidents of various NDA allies are also likely to be present there on the occasion.
Those likely to be present at the nomination include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, his Chhattisgarh counterpart Vishnu Deo Sai and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Ahead of filing the nomination, PM Modi held an extravagant roadshow in Varanasi on a five-kilometre-stretch on Monday evening.
PM Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP state president Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh. The whole stretch was reverberating with 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Jai Shree Ram' chants as a huge crowd of supporters and residents gathered on either side of the road to cheer the Prime Minister.

PM Modi will file his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat today in Uttar Pradesh. Before filing the papers, the PM will offer prayers at Dashwamedh Ghat and will take a dip in the River Ganga before boarding the cruise ship.PM Modi is the sitting MP and candidate from Varanasi. Voting in Varanasi will be held on June 1 in the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
