Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Pulwama district.
SRINAGAR: Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Pulwama district on Thursday, police said. The shoot-out broke out between the militants and police at Tamulhal-Litter on Wednesday evening when the raiding party launched a search operation in the village to flush out hiding militants, they said. Troops of 55 Rashtria Rifles also joined the police in the gunbattle later.
However, the operation was suspended late Wednesday night but all the escape routes were plugged by the joint search party, they said. The operation was resumed on Thursday morning and two local militants identified as Zahoor Mir, a resident of Baramulla, and Gul Mohammad Rather of Nikloora, were killed, police said.
