It's that time of the year when the winter chill has set in and festivities galore. It's a time to sit back, relax and reflect on the year that went by. Readers across the world prefer curling up in their bed with a good book and a cup of hot tea or coffee. With the holiday season just around the corner, Oprah recently shared six of her personal favourite books which she loves to gift others. "All of them are books I would be thrilled to find under my Christmas tree—even if I’ve read them before—or to give to family and friends," Oprah said in a video shared on her book club's page. 'Love Poems from God'

'Love Poems from God: Twelve Sacred Voices from the East and West', as the title suggests, is a collection of poems by 12 mystics and saints from across the world. The book includes poems by Rumi and St. Francis of Assisi among others. "I just love Rumi's poetry-- I find it to be so soul satisfying and soothing," Oprah said about the book.

'Faithful and Virtuous Night' by Louise Gluck

Another book in the list is 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature and the 1993 Pulitzer Prize winning author Louise Gluck's poetry collection titled 'Faithful and Virtuous Night'. "For there's one thing I know for sure is that poems are like prayers; they are to be treasured and to be cherished," Oprah said about selecting another poetry book in her list.

'Love in the Time of Cholera' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The next book in the list is the illustrated edition of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's classic 'Love in the Time of Cholera'. First published in French, this romantic novel will warm the cockles of your heart.

'Their Eyes Were Watching God' by Zora Neale Hurston

One of Zora Neale Hurston's best known works, 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' is an important book in African-American literature. This 1937 novel is considered a classic about the Harlem Renaissance. Set in 20th century Florida, the story follows Janie Crawford as she grows from a voiceless teenage girl into a woman in control of her destiny.
