A look at 5 celebrity bridal saree-blouse designs

Weddings require incessant planning, which can take up to months or even a year, where the bride always remains the centre of attention. With jewellery, makeup, outfits, and more, the bride has to prepare her whole trousseau, which should consist of traditional yet stunning blouses that can be worn post the wedding festivities, giving a ‘nayi bahu’ vibe. With rich sarees, a bride surely needs beautiful blouse pieces, and today’s South Indian actresses will be lending their bridal saree-blouse design as inspiration.

Nayanthara

Nayanthara’s dreamy red saree stole the show and was the fashion highlight of 2022. The diva wore a customised saree designed by Monica Shah and Karishma of Jade. She teamed it with a high neckline, where the statement sleeves had motifs of the goddess Laxmi, whereas the intricate embroidery was inspired by the carvings of temples of the Hoysala. The saree had names of the actors, signifying their fourth vow, where the diva completed the look with jewels from Goenka India.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Even though the beloved couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya have broken up, no one can deny the fact that their wedding in Goa came straight out of a fairytale. Samantha wore a classic Kanjeevaram drape dipped in ivory grace, which belonged to Naga Chaitanya’s grandmother, and teamed it with a contrasting maroon-red, elbow-length, elegant blouse from Sabyasachi. The red silk embroidered blouse looked perfect with her golden temple jewellery and created a beautiful contrasting tale.

Sneha Reddy

Allu Arjun’s wife, Sneha Reddy, made the whole fashion industry go gaga over her ensemble in 2011, when social media was hardly a thing. She wore a breathtaking golden Kanjeevaram on her big day, which came with intricate embroidery and heavy embellishments along the hemline. However, she added a modish edge to her blouse and opted for a contrasting baby pink silk-adorned blouse featuring silver embroidery, a sweetheart neckline finish, and shoulder-length sleeves.

Aditi Rao Hydari

Aditi Rao Hydari and actor Siddharth tied the knot in complete ‘Two States’ style, as the beautiful wedding temple reminded us of the film’s South Indian wedding. Aditi Rao Hydari was looking gorgeous in a minimalist aesthetic where she dazzled in a Maheshwari tissue organza lehenga-saree, which came with intricate golden zari work. She matched its prowess with a golden blouse featuring embellished, delicate stripes, a hand-embroidered border, and elbow-length, elegant sleeves. Completing the look with traditional gold jewellery and sparkling rubies, she looked absolutely flawless.

Sobhita Dhulipala

Sobhita Dhulipala opted for a fully traditional Southern wedding and tied the knot last year in December. She picked an ethereal Kanjeevaram saree with a gleaming golden hue that had golden temple borders on the side, which celebrated her culture and ancestral history. She completed the look with a matching elbow-length blouse, which was decorated with a stunning golden elbow cuff, drenched in gold temple style.
