Unique wedding foods

Weddings are no less than festivals that portray the colours, customs, and traditions of families, religions, and communities. And in all this, food plays a key role. Whether it’s India or abroad, people make an effort in serving the best of experiences to the guests, and when it comes to big fat weddings of celebrities, the expectations are way higher. Let us tell you about some weddings from across the world that offered unique dining experiences.

2/10

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip

The power couple of that time got married just two years after WWII in 1947 and as the country was still in a period of rationing, the exotic dishes served were made by donations.

3/10

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian

At the wedding reception of tennis legend Alexis Kerry Ohanian, there was a salad wall and a steak station. And as per guests, the wall looked eye-pleasing and the salads tasted divine too.

4/10

Adam Levine And Behati Prinsloo

Their reception was held beneath a bunch of mango trees and people relished organic pork chops, fresh fish and beet salads under the trees. Interestingly, dessert was served on the dance floor. As people danced the night away, waiters passed around popsicles and organic ice cream on the dance floor.

5/10

George And Amal Clooney

Generally, wedding menus are elaborate and lavish, but for this couple, it was all about a few dishes, just to keep the guests satisfied. And while chocolate cake is mostly not preferred as a wedding cake, here the star of the show was chocolate wedding cake with gold leaves.

6/10

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal

The royal wedding of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani became viral when big names of Bollywood were seen serving food to guests. If we go by the reports, all the guests were served in silverware and a video that went viral on social media showcased Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan serving food to the guests. Later, it emerged on social media that according to Gujarati tradition, family members serve the guests as a mark of respect, since these celebs are more like family to Ambanis, they decided to take part in the ritual.

7/10

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput

The big fat wedding of Shahid and Mira had a unique blend of UP and Punjab food. The key highlight of the wedding menu was traditional Japanese Sushi along with the inventive Sushi Chaat all of which were placed on props that looked like stacks of books.

8/10

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert

International weddings never fail to surprise the guests and even the audience. As per reports, guests at Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s wedding in 2011 were served venison (meat of a game animal) that was hunted, killed and prepared by the bride. At the dinner table, the bride also extended a thank you to all the guests.

9/10

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh

The most-coveted wedding of 2018 saw some really interesting style statements by the power couple of Bollywood. Not only this, the destination wedding at Lake Como in Italy saw South Indian filter coffee served as a welcome drink. And if reports are to be believed, a special variety of coffee from Bengaluru was flown to the venue. Also, the wedding saw a royal South Indian feast including Pooran Poli, Rassam and the likes served on a banana leaf.

10/10

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif

While nothing has been officially announced by both the actors, the royal wedding taking place on December 9, at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district will see a unique blend of Rajasthani, English and Punjabi delicacies. As per reports, 100 confectioners have reached Six Senses Resort from Mumbai and special arrangements have been made for vegetables as a truck loaded with vegetables from Karnataka has reached the wedding venue too.
