India has surpassed Italy’s number of coronavirus cases and with each passing day, this number seems to be increasing. Though no concrete therapy or clinical solution has come in treating #COVID19, the government is trying every possible way to treat the patients affected with this deadly pandemic. The Ministry of AYUSH keeps on sharing various tips on social media on the usage of herbs and their effectiveness in fighting against COVID19. In the same league, recently Baba Ramdev claimed that herbs like Giloy and Ashwagandha can be used for 100 percent effective treatment of coronavirus. A recent study

In a collaborative study between IIT- Delhi and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology – Japan, it was recently found that Ashwagandha might prove to be beneficial in fighting against covid19. The researchers discovered that Ashwagandha has a natural compound called Withanone (Wi-N), which can block the activity of Mpro or Main protease – a type of protein essential for the reproduction of the coronavirus.

While Baba Ramdev’s statement seems to be a ray of hope to millions, the magic of these two herbs- giloy and ashwagandha are known to us for years. From fighting fatal diseases like dengue to controlling diabetes, it is being used for years for various complex diseases. According to health experts, giloy is an effective remedy for dengue fever. In Ayurveda, it is known as Amritas (root of immortality) and is recommended during dengue fever, as the antioxidants protect the body and help reduce fever and at the same time boosts immunity. It is recommended to extract juice of fresh stalk of giloy and mix it with 5-7 tulsi leaves and boil with 1/2 cup of water and drink it daily. It helps increase platelet count.

It is believed that a person who consumes this herbal medicine will gain horse-like strength and vitality. It has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties that help boost the immune system. It has an active ingredient called Withanolides, which helps the body cope with stress and also creates a protection shield against bacteria borne illnesses. In Ayurveda, it is also called ‘balya’, which refers to increasing strength in conditions like general debility. It is best consumed in the form of powder mixed with honey or milk, before bedtime, which further improves energy, stamina and endurance.

Benefits of Giloy

According to Ayurveda experts, giloy is an exceptional herb that builds immunity. It is rich in antioxidants that help fight free-radicals and keeps your cells healthy and creates a protection shield that keeps the body safe from bacteria borne illnesses that may damage liver and cause urinary tract infections. It also helps remove toxins, purifies blood and keeps the heart healthy. It is suggested to drink giloy juice on an empty stomach in the morning for effective results. I am not sure whether the Claims that Ashwagandha and Giloy cure the Corona, but I am 100% sure it boosts the Immunity and is must for Kids, Senior Citizens, obviously the adults can also consume them, but always buy from well-known sources as nowadays a lot of cheap fake products are available. So buy Natural and only Herbal Products. The good quality organic products you can buy online from Jindal Herbals.com and Dhotpapeshwer. I think we all should really think about boosting the Immunity now by doing Yoga and buy some immunity booster products to protect our family.
