Danielle Jonas reveals the surprising symptom that led to her shocking Lyme disease diagnosis

Danielle Jonas, wife of Kevin Jonas, the eldest Jonas brother revealed a stressful symptom that led to her recent diagnosis of Lyme disease. In an interview with Parents published on Thursday, the 39-year-old shared the shocking symptom that raised her concerns. “They tried to tell me it was anxiety. Finally, I had a biopsy that showed I actually had Lyme disease,” she said.

What was the symptom?

Well, Danielle sought treatment after she noticed that she was shedding more hair than usual. “I … had eczema on my scalp, which was likely from the inflammation [caused by Lyme disease],” said Jonas. “The hair loss was very traumatic. I got to a point where I wanted to wear a wig.”

To compensate for her hair loss, she even wore hair extensions but they pulled on her scalp and further elevated the eczema.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by the bite of an infected black-legged tick, called a deer tick. Symptoms of the disease include fever, chills, headaches, fatigue, muscle and joint aches, swollen lymph nodes, hair loss and rashes.

In order to help and heal the eczema, Jonas went into “full detective mode” analysing all the products she used on her skin, including her laundry detergent.

She found that switching to All Free Clear, a brand that made a significant difference and led to her even partnering with it.

About 31 million Americans will develop eczema at some point as per the National Eczema Foundation. The condition is often passed down genetically. In order to help her daughters deal with it, Jonas shared that she advised them to simplify their skin routines and avoid following trends.
