Chris Martin is getting inspired!

Rock band Coldplay's co-founder Chris Martin revealed a change in his meal timings to stay in shape. He shared that he changed his diet after a "challenge" inspired by singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. His new diet can be seen as the popular intermittent fasting.

No dinner anymore

"I don't actually have dinner anymore," Martin, 46, recently shared on the podcast 'Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend'.

"I stop eating at 4 [p.m.], and I learned that from having lunch with Bruce Springsteen," he added.

Inspired by Springsteen

The Coldplay star shared, "Bruce is in my equal top Pantheon of Heroes, and I love him, and I love Patti [Scialfa], his wife. I was lucky enough to go over there for lunch the day after we played Philadelphia last year. I was on a really strict diet anyway. But I said, 'Bruce looks even more in shape than me.' "

Springsteen's wife told Martin that he was only eating one meal a day, which inspired Martin.

"I was like well, there we go, that's my next challenge," Martin shared.

Controversy on ex-wife's diet

The "Hymn for the Weekend" singer’s comments on his personal diet came a week after his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, was slammed for promoting a "starvation diet."

In explanation, Paltrow wrote on her Instagram Story, "This is not to say I eat this way all day, every day."

She added, "And by the way, I eat far more than bone broth and vegetables. I eat full meals, and I also have a lot of days of eating whatever I want. You know, eating french fries and whatever. My baseline really has been to try to be healthy and eat foods that will really calm the system down."

Fitness routine of Martin's inspiration Bruce Springsteen

At 73, music legend Bruce Springsteen is super fit and active.

"I think anybody that's trying to get in shape, exercise is always important of course, but diet is 90 percent of the game," he shared in an interview.

"I lift a little weight to stay toned, I may get on the treadmill. I walk, I don't run anymore," he added.
