Tips to design your ideal bedroom, as per Vastu

A bedroom is an intimate space with the most comfortable and pleasant energy in your entire home. Your bedroom portrays who you are as a person. And keeping the bedroom clutter-free and chic isn't the only thing you should focus on. Planning your ideal bedroom requires quite some planning and designing so that it's beautiful yet convenient. Your bedroom impacts not only your health but also the energies in your home. According to Vastu, here are few things to remember to design your dream bedroom.

2/9

Space in the bedroom

As per the Vastu experts, there should be ample space to move around freely in the bedroom. If you are planning a bedroom, make sure you think through the placement of the furniture and décor. Make a blueprint of the bedroom layout and play with different furniture to give an aesthetic look. Don't keep furniture close to each other as it might create a hurdle in the flow of energies.

3/9

Placement of the bed

One shouldn't sleep with their head in the North direction. According to Vastu, if you sleep with your head pointing in the North Direction, you will attract negative vibrations. Your bed headboard should face the South or East direction for a sound sleep. If you wish to be famous, face West direction while sleeping.

4/9

Quality of the bed

Don't just pick the first eye-pleasing bed; the material and quality of the bed play an important role, as per Vastu. Go for wooden beds in place of iron ones. Don't go for designer circular beds; a simple square or rectangle bed is the best.

5/9

Mirrors in the bedroom

Well, we all love the look a mirror creates in a room. However, it would be best if you remembered that your bed or any part of your body shouldn't reflect on the mirror in your bedroom. It is believed that if your body is reflected in the mirror while sleeping, you may attract diseases.

6/9

Door in the bedroom

While planning the bedroom's layout, make sure the door opens fully or at the right angle. Vastu believes that doors are the ways to better opportunities, so they should be opened fully.

7/9

Technology and bedroom

All of us have heard how placing electronics near or in the bedroom impacts our sleeping patterns. Avoid placing TV, computers, or other gadgets. However, if it is inevitable, put them away from your bed, as the screen acts as the reflecting surfaces of negative energies. Make your bedroom as peaceful as possible.

8/9

Bedroom wall colours

One of the things to impact your mental wellbeing is the colours on the walls. It plays a vital role in deciding the vibe as well as the décor of the room. Paint the walls of your bedroom in light shades of pink, yellow, brown, or even blue. Bright colours may lead to stress and high blood pressure, as per Vastu.

9/9

Natural lights

Proper ventilation and natural light are always considered welcoming. Lots of natural light and air makes the surrounding positive and full of energy. Place the windows in the North or East direction with light-coloured curtains.
