1/6

Is this happening to you?

Yes we should be there for our partners in their time of need but if you are not happy and you feel emotionally exhausted all the time then you need to rethink your relationship with your partner. Many do not realise it but often your partner can be draining you emotionally. Keep tabs on these 5 signs to be sure whether your partner and relationship is emotionally draining or not.

2/6

You keep thinking about fixing your partner’s issues

If you are always worried about your partner’s issues and you keep trying to fix them then you know you are getting emotionally drained. Sometimes it is alright, it is your partner that we are talking about, but all the time is not mentally healthy. If you are continuously offering support but you know that when you need it, you may not get that, you probably need to step back.

3/6

You feel unimportant with them

If you are uncomfortable in expressing yourself and you no longer feel important, that your opinion matters, it is an issue. You may have realised that in the end it is always about your partner’s issue and that they tend to make everything about themselves. This is a major indication that you are being emotionally drained.

4/6

You feel happier when alone

It is normal and very reasonable to want some me time, but if you prefer that "me time" and are eager to be on your own all the while when you are with your partner, it means you need a mental and emotional break. This is a huge indication that you are running away from your partner because he/she is emotionally draining you.

5/6

Feeling exhausted all the time

When you feel exhausted all the time not just after work but even during holidays when it is just you and your partner then it is possible that you are being emotionally drained. You should be at peace and happy when you are with your partner. If he/she keeps fighting, makes you whack your brain all the time and you remain tense, then what is the point?

6/6

The need for recovery time

You feel so drained that you want a break after every time you see him or her, it means you are being emotionally drained. After a single date, you feel exhausted and all you want is a drink or a weekend away then your energy for sure is being sucked out.
