Chaturthi is one of the most auspicious days in Hindu religion. The day is dedicated to worship Lord Ganesha. On this auspicious day, devotees worship him with devotion and observe fast from sunrise till sunset. Chaturthi falls twice a month during Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. Chaturthi that occurs during Krishna Paksha is known as Sankashti Chaturthi and Chaturthi which falls during Shukla Paksha called as Vinayak Chaturthi. Devotees visit temple to seek the blessings of Ganesh ji. This time, Varada Chaturthi is going to occur during Shukla Paksha in the month of Jyeshtha i.e., on May 20, 2026.

Varada Chaturthi 2026: Significance
Chaturthi holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. Devotees offer their sincere prayers to the Lord Ganpati. Lord Ganesha, also called Shree Ganesha, Ganpati, or Vinayaka, is a highly revered deity in Hinduism. He is recognized as the elephant-headed god of beginnings, wisdom, and the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta). People traditionally worship Ganesha before starting new ventures, rituals, or important tasks. He is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is considered the elder brother of Lord Kartikeya, though some regional beliefs differ on who is older.
Varada Chaturthi 2026: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. After bath, you should take an idol of Lord Ganesha and then give bath to the idol.
3. Take a wooden plank where you can place the Lord Ganpati's idol and adorn him with garland.
4. Offer him durva grass, which is very important.
5. Laddoo and Modaks are favorite to Lord Ganesha so one must offer him that.
6. Chant mantras to invoke the idol.
7. Recite Binadayak katha and chaturthi katha.
8. Complete the puja rituals by reciting the aarti.
