India's Anandkumar Velkumar and Siddhant Kamble signed off at the sixth and seventh place respectively in men's speed skating 10000m final. Anand clocked 15:40.978, while Siddhant came up with a timing of 15:57.944. South Korea's Byeonhee Jeong claimed gold with a time of 15:39.867, while China's Zhang Zhenhai and Korea's Choi Inho won the silver and bronze medals respectively. In women's speed skating 10000m, Aarathy Kasturi Raj and Heeral Sadhu finished 5th and 7th respectively. Chinese Taipei duo of Pei-Yu Shih and Ho-Chen Yang won the gold and silver, while South Korea's Yu Garam claimed the bronze.
India's Pincky Balhara, a silver medallist at Jakarta meet in 2018, was knocked out in the women's 52kg quarterfinals of the kurash competition at the Asian Games. Pincky lost to Sitora Elmurodova of Uzbekistan after the final appraisal by the referee went in favour of the latter. Earlier, the 24-year-old Pincky overcame South Korea's Joo Ye Lee 5-3 in her pre-quarterfinals bout at the Linpu Gymnasium to reach the round of eight. In the round of 32, Pincky defeated Ayshirin Haydarova 5-0. The other Indians in the fray too were knocked out of the Asian Games. Suchika Tariyal, who was also competing in the women's 52kg category, was knocked out in the round of 32 itself. Suchika lost to Philippine's Charmea Quelino 3-8. Keshav, who contested in the men's 66kg, too went out of the competition. The Indian was blanked 0-10 by South Korea's Jaedeog Kwon. India will now hope that Vishal Ruhil (81kg), Yash Kumar Chauhan (90kg) and Jyoti Tokas (87kg) will bring better fortunes on Sunday.
India's Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS settled for a silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, losing the finals to Chinese pair at the Asian Games on Saturday. The final score read 16-14 in favour of Chinese shooters Zhang Bowen and Jiang Ranxin in the shoot-off for gold. India thus have won 19 medals in shooting, including 6 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze, from the continental Games. Sarabjot had shot 291, while Divya scored 286 to aggregate 577 and finish ahead of China (576) in the qualification round. But in the shoot-off for gold, the Chinese pair turned the tables on the Indians, emerging winners after trailing the Indian duo for much of the finals.
