That will surely uplift the spirits in that Bangladeshi camp.

Kusal Mendis gets half forward and tries to drive it through the off side, but the ball nibbles away and takes the thick, healthy outside edge. Goes flat and low towards the right of the keeper. Litton Das flings himself towards the ball and gathers a fine catch behind the wickets before tumbling down onto the ground. Kusal Mendis departs for 3 (6) and Sri Lanka are 13/1, needing another 127 runs to win off 109 balls.

Shoriful Islam to Pathum Nissanka, Full and on middle, drilled down the ground, to the left of the bowler, and between mid on and mid off. A slight fumble by the mid off fielder allows them to cross over.
Shoriful Islam to Kusal Mendis, Quick single! Full and around middle and off. Kusal Mendis gets right behind it and punches it in front of mid off and scampers for a single. Has to dive full length to get off the mark.

Shoriful Islam to Pathum Nissanka, Buzzers first up! Shoriful starts with a full ball, across off, Pathum Nissanka presses forward and taps it to the backward point region. Kusal Mendis is already halfway through for a single, but Pathum sees the fielder dive to his right and stop the ball. Denies for the single, and that forces Kusal to retreat back. Saif Hassan, the substitute fielder, throws it flat towards the bowler's end, but misses his shy, allowing Mendis to get home with the dive.
Back for the chase! The players of Bangladesh are out, forming a final huddle, where the skipper Litton Das gives a pep talk before they spread out to take their respective positions. Also, walk out the two openers of Sri Lanka, where Pathum Nissanka will open the innings alongside Kusal Mendis. Also, Shoriful Islam has the new ball in his hands, and he will start the proceedings with a slip in place. Here we go...
... THE RUN CHASE ...
Now, it’s over to Sri Lanka’s batters, and while 140 might not look like a mountain, it can still be a tricky chase under the lights in Abu Dhabi. The ball has been gripping for the spinners, and the Bangladeshi seamers will look to exploit any movement upfront just like the Lankan quicks did earlier. A couple of early wickets could suddenly make this chase interesting, especially with the pressure of a tournament game and the pitch slowing down in the second innings. On the flip side, if Sri Lanka’s experienced top order settles in, they have more than enough firepower to make this chase a stroll. So, will we see another collapse like Bangladesh’s first half, or will Sri Lanka cruise home with authority? The chase is about to begin, so don't go anywhere.
A fightback then. Jaker and Shamim played with patience first and then authority, putting together an unbeaten 86-run stand for the sixth wicket. Shamim looked fluent, while Jaker was solid. The duo picked boundaries at the right moments, especially against Dasun Shanaka and Matheesha Pathirana, whose expensive spells shifted the momentum back. Even though Chameera came back brilliantly at the death with pinpoint yorkers, Bangladesh had done enough to drag themselves to a competitive total. From 53/5 to 139/5, it has been a rescue mission well executed.
Charith Asalanka won the toss and chose to field, and the new-ball bowlers responded with fire. Nuwan Thushara bowled a testing first over, making Tanzid Hasan look like a passenger before rattling his stumps. Dushmantha Chameera followed it up by removing Parvez Hossain Emon, and suddenly, Bangladesh were 0/2 after two consecutive Wicket-Maidens. Tawhid Hridoy’s nervy stay ended with a self-inflicted run-out, Mahedi Hasan was trapped by Wanindu Hasaranga, and when Litton Das fell after scratching around for 28, the scoreboard showed 53/5 inside 10 overs. At that point, Bangladesh looked like they’d struggle to even touch 100.
SCRAPPY AND GRITTY. That was an innings of two halves. Bangladesh stumbled horribly early, losing half their side for just 53, but thanks to a fighting 86-run partnership between Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain, they clawed their way to 139/5, giving something to their bowlers to bowl. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s bowlers were superb for most of the night, yet they’ll feel they let things slip in the middle after such a dominating start.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, Dushmantha Chameera nails the yorker in, on the stumps. Jaker Ali drills it down to long on. Just a single off the last ball. 8 off the final over. Dushmantha Chameera ends his spell with respectable figures of 4-1-17-1. BANGLADESH FINISH AT 139/5!
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, FOUR! The margin of error is razor-thin in this format! Chameera misses the yorker, by just a yard. Full and outside off. Jaker Ali hits through the line, and smashes it over cover for a cracking boundary.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, Excellent stuff from Chameera! Keeps bowling full, at 141.2 kph, just outside the off stump. Jaker Ali shuffles across to scoop. First, he looks to scoop, but then tries for the reverse ramp, but misses and is hit on the front pad.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, A searing yorker, at 144.1 kph, on the leg stump, with just a bit of tail into the batter. Jaker Ali almost falls over while jamming his bat down and manages to flick it to deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs.
Dushmantha Chameera to Shamim Hossain, Another wide yorker, outside off, Hossain shovels it out and drives it to deep cover for a single.
Dushmantha Chameera to Shamim Hossain, Good start for Chameera! Pace on at 142.7 kph, full and outside off. Shamim Hossain carves it out, beside the pitch, on the off side.
With that big 19th over, which went for 18 runs, Bangladesh are pushing hard to get the 140-mark. Clearly, Matheesha Pathirana hasn't looked in rhythm. But here is Dushmantha Chameera to bowl out and close the inning. He has been pretty accurate with his yorkers so far and a change of pace.
Matheesha Pathirana to Shamim Hossain, Low full toss again, on middle. Hossain pushes it to mid off for a quick run. An expensive outing for Matheesha Pathirana with the ball. He goes for 18 runs in the final over and wraps his spell with figures of 4-0-42-0.
Matheesha Pathirana to Jaker Ali, Spotting Jaker shaping for the scoop shot, Matheesha Pathirana spears in a yorker, but it goes as a full toss, on middle. Ali somehow manages to squeeze it off the toe end of the bat towards mid-wicket for a single.
Matheesha Pathirana to Jaker Ali, Full delivery, outside the off stump. Jaker reaches for it and slashes it to the right of Dasun Shanaka at deep point for a couple of runs.
Matheesha Pathirana to Jaker Ali, Chance? Full ball, outside the off pole. Jaker Ali swings hard and lofts it over the mid off region. Charith Asalanka, from long off, runs forward and dives to catch it, but the ball dips and lands just short of him. The ball then deflects off his leg and rolls to Asalanka's right for a couple of runs.
Matheesha Pathirana to Jaker Ali, WIDE! Dear me, this is sloppy bowling! Outside the wide guideline, full in length. Jaker Ali reaches for it and tries to carve it out to the off side. Misses. Wide given! Third of the over already.
Matheesha Pathirana to Jaker Ali, Full and straight, outside off at 141.7 kph. Jaker Ali clears the front leg and tries to smash it over mid off. Ends up slicing it over the in-field and to the left of long off for a couple.
Matheesha Pathirana to Jaker Ali, WIDE! Not helping for Sri Lanka! Tries to keep that away from the batter's arc. Full and beyond the tramline, outside off. Jaker Ali throws the kitchen sink at it to go over cover, but misses. Wide called.
Matheesha Pathirana to Shamim Hossain, Under pressure, clearly, is Pathirana! A wayward delivery, full and down leg. Hossain misses to flick and the keeper, Kusal Mendis, too fails to gather it cleanly on the dive to his right. Parries the ball behind to the deep fine leg region. They cross.
Matheesha Pathirana to Shamim Hossain, SIX! THAT HAS GONE MILES! A rare loosener from Matheesha Pathirana, as this is served into the slot, on middle. Shamim Hossain readies to punish the half volley. Swings across and whips it off the middle of the bat, depositing it behind deep backward square leg for half a dozen. Shamim Hossain moves into the 40s now!
How much score would Bangladesh want from here? At least 140? As they need to give something to their bowlers to defend, and the last three overs have been pretty excellent for Sri Lanka, where they gave away just 20 runs. Also, Matheesha Pathirana is to bowl the penultimate over.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, A pinpoint yorker, around off, jammed out by Jaker, but only toward the bowler. What a brilliant over from Dushmantha Chameera. No doubts why Asalanka saved his best man for the last. He still has an over left in his bank. His figures read 3-1-9-1 so far.
Dushmantha Chameera to Shamim Hossain, Cannons a full ball, around off. Shamim Hossain switches stance, trying for the reverse scoop, but the ball smashes his left boot and runs towards the short fine leg region for a leg bye.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, Excellent yorker, at 141.3 kph, around off. Jaker Ali clears the front leg to get underneath the ball, but only manages to drill it to the mid off region for a single. It's been 19 legal balls, including this one, since the last boundary for Bangladesh!
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, Slips a full toss, angling onto the pads. Jaker Ali swings to whip that over the square leg region, but gets no timing on that. Hits it off the higher part of the bat and it rolls through square leg for two.
Dushmantha Chameera to Shamim Hossain, So far, a quiet over from Chameera! Wide yorker, well outside off, at 144.5 kph. Shamim Hossain throws his bat away by bending a bit and carves it through cover for a single.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, Nails a yorker, at 137.6 kph, on off, Jaker Ali jams the bat down in time and digs it across to mid-wicket for a single.
Dushmantha Chameera to Jaker Ali, WIDE! He will have to reload that one. Misses the radar completely, does Chameera. Sprays it miles down leg. Jaker leaves. A fantastic diving grab by Kusal Mendis, to his left. Wide called.
Another change. Dushmantha Chameera returns to the attack. He will bowl the 18th and most likely the 20th over. 2-1-3-1 so far.
