Day 3 Session 2 in a nutshell
Openers Tom Latham (17*) and Devon Conway (18*) looked absolutely cautious against a sharp India pace attack in overcast conditions as they steadily took New Zealand to 36/0 at Tea on Day 3 of The WTC Final. This was after the Kiwi pacers quickly wrapped up India's tail soon after lunch, restricting them to 217 in the first innings. Kyle Jamieson turned out to be the wrecker-in-chief as he led the Kiwi attack with his fifth five-wicket haul in Tests. Resuming on 211 for 7 after Lunch, India could only muster 6 more runs and lost the remaining three wickets against a disciplined attack. Jamieson first removed Ishant Sharma (2) and then on the very next ball got rid of Jasprit Bumrah (0), putting rest to any hopes of resilience from the lower order. Trent Boult then wrapped up the India innings with Ravindra Jadeja (15) wicket. Latham and Conway, then took no chance and looked solid in their defence as the Kiwis managed to end the session with any loss of wicket. New Zealand still trail India by 181 runs.
