Day 3 Session 1 in a nutshell
New Zealand pacers were on top of their game as they clinched four wickets, restricting India to 211/7 at Lunch on Day 3 of the World Test Championship final. Virat Kohli (44), Rishabh Pant (4) and Ajinkya Rahane (49) and R Ashwin (22) were the wickets to fall in the morning session as New Zealand gained the upper-hand in the marquee Test. As once again play resumed under overcast conditions, Kiwi pacers unlike yesterday were right on the money from the word go. Kyle Jamieson got the first breakthrough early in the session, removing the India skipper, as he walked back without even troubling the scorers. Pant followed him soon, playing a loose shot off the lanky pacer. Rahane, after that, toiled hard along with Ravindra Jadeja but he also gave his wicket away, falling into the bouncer trap from Neil Wagner. Jadeja and R Ashwin then took India across the 200-run mark but Southee then produced a ripper to get rid of Ashwin. Jadeja (15) and Ishant Sharma (2) were unbeaten at the break.
