The win marked India’s highest successful T20I chase against Pakistan, extending their unbeaten run in the tournament. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 58, while Faheem Ashraf added a late 20* off eight balls, helping Pakistan post 171/5 in 20 overs.

India’s chase began in aggressive fashion. Sharma hooked Shaheen Afridi for six off the very first ball, while Shubman Gill contributed a brisk 47 off 28 balls. The pair stitched a 105-run opening partnership, leaving Pakistan struggling for answers.
Despite a brief wobble, Tilak Varma ensured a smooth finish with an unbeaten 30 off 19 balls, guiding India home with seven balls to spare. Both Varma and Hardik Pandya quietly walked past the Pakistani side without shaking hands, entering the dressing room in jubilation.
Sharma dominated from the start, carting Abrar Ahmed for two sixes—including one dropped by Farhan—and brought up his fifty in just 24 balls with a cover-drive off Saim Ayub. Gill also impressed with a variety of strokes, including late cuts and short-arm pulls through mid-wicket.
After an early drinks break—taken as Gill received treatment for cramps—Pakistan struck twice quickly: Faheem Ashraf bowled Gill through the gate, and Suryakumar Yadav fell to Rauf’s catch at deep third man.
Sharma shook off the lull with boundaries off Ashraf and Abrar, but eventually holed out to long-on. With 49 needed off 46 balls, Varma and Sanju Samson kept the scoreboard ticking. Though Samson was castled by Rauf, Varma and Pandya calmly rotated strike and hit boundaries to complete India’s dominant chase.
