IND vs ZIM, 5th T20I Highlights: India beat Zimbabwe by 42 runs, clinch five-match series 4-1

India vs Zimbabwe, T20 Live Score: India secured a 4-1 series victory against Zimbabwe in the five-match T20I series, winning the final match by 42 runs in Harare on Sunday.

Sanju Samson's crucial 58 off 45 deliveries, along with his 65-run partnership with Riyan Parag (22 runs), helped India post a competitive total of 167 for 6.

The Indian bowling attack, led by pacer Mukesh Kumar's impressive 4/22 and all-rounder Shivam Dube's 2/25, successfully restricted Zimbabwe to 125 in 18.3 overs, sealing the win for the visitors.

India faced early setbacks while batting first, losing openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (12), Abhished Sharma (14), and skipper Shubman Gill (13) within the first five powerplay overs, leaving them in a precarious position at 40/3.

However, Samson and Parag's partnership stabilized the innings and laid the foundation for a defendable total.

Excellent series. The hunger that we showed after the first loss was phenomenal to watch. Lot of the players had long flights, they weren't used to the conditions. The way they adapted was remarkable. I have been there (Sri Lanka) once for Asia Cup, looking forward to go there and performing.

I thought Blessing bowled well the whole series. Batting-wise, we are below-par. The grey thing for me is the attitude in the field, that's something we can improve. Richie wasn't fit at the start, to have him fit is a blessing. To have Richie and Blessing complementing each other, very happy to see them. My workload needs to be managed. I will go back to play domestic cricket. I am still available for Test match cricket. I leave for Hundred in a few days time.

Good to have finished with a win. After the first game, the conditions were similar to South Africa getting that extra bounce and extra pace. We had enough time to get a lot of information. Lot of takeaways and learnings, I bowled a lot in this series. We had a lot of success as a team.

Feels great. After the 1st game everyone woke up and we were clinical after that. Really proud of the boys and enjoyed it to the max. [on Abhishek Sharma] We opened our jerseys together. I went to his room, he opened it first and then I did. We played the 2018 WC together and next 6 years we did not play. Doing it with him was pretty special. I had a chat with Sanju bhayya and spoke that now we had to build a RR partnership. Once we had wickets in the end, we could go like hell and it was a tricky wicket, glad we could do well. [on playing under Gill] It has been fun, we have played age group together, under 16. He has been like a captain even when he was not captain. In the field he has been exceptional.

Last few games it was pretty good for bowling and as Riyan said after the 1st game we all woke up. Positive was the next match was next day so we did not think have time to think too much. We were talking about this in the IPL, if we get our caps it will be a dream come true. We never thought we will debut together. We spoke about it long back and it happened. Special mention to Shubman and coaches for trusting in my bowling after the first two games, I did not bowl well also, I'm working hard on my bowling and it's good to have the backing from the management. We all saw and it is always special when you play Pakistan and even more so when it's a final, congrats to my mentor [Yuvraj Singh].

Mukesh Kumar registered his career-best figures (4/22 in 3.3 overs) and a timely two-wicket haul by Shivam Dube helped India (167/6) beat Zimbabwe (125) by 42 runs in the fifth and final T20I to clinch five-match series 4-1. After posting a competitive 167 for 6, thanks mainly to Sanju's well-struck 58 off 45 deliveries and his 65-run partnership with young Riyan Parag (22 runs), India dismissed the hosts for 125 in 18.3 overs. After losing the first match of the series, young Indian side got their act together and convincingly won the remaining four matches.
