It went under the bat and crashed into the stumps, giving Brijesh a wicket off his very first delivery.

Nandre Burger gave Rajasthan Royals another breakthrough by dismissing Ryan Rickelton. After surviving a mix-up on the previous delivery, Rickelton could not make the most of it and ended up hitting the ball straight to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the field. He is gone for 12 off seven balls, with one four and one six.

Ryan Rickelton quickly puts the pressure back on Rajasthan Royals with two boundaries off Nandre Burger. He first punishes a short ball outside off by driving it crisply through deep extra cover for four. On the very next delivery, Rickelton goes aerial and lofted the ball over long-on for six.

Bowling a full delivery outside off with some movement away, Archer draws Rohit into a shot down the wrong line. Rohit came in as the impact substitute, replacing Raghu Sharma. RR also have their field ready for the MI opener, with fielders placed at deep mid-wicket and square leg as the chase got underway.

Jofra Archer continues his assault against Shardul Thakur with back-to-back boundaries. He first smashes a short ball flat over deep mid-wicket for six after making room for himself. On the next delivery, Thakur bowls a high full toss that was called a no-ball for height. Archer swings again and gets an under-edge that runs away past backward square leg for four, while also earning a free hit.

However, Thakur strikes back by removing Shubham Dubey two balls later and then gets the wicket of Jofra Archer himself in the last ball of the over.

Deepak Chahar delivers a key breakthrough for Mumbai Indians by dismissing Donovan Ferreira with a slower ball dug into the pitch. Ferreira tries to force the shot across the line from outside off but could not get proper timing on it. The ball goes high towards deep mid-wicket, where Corbin Bosch moves to his left and completes a good catch.

Donovan Ferreira finally finds the big shot Rajasthan Royals were searching for with a six off Raghu Sharma. The spinner bowls it slightly too full and right in the hitting zone. Ferreira clears his front leg and powers the ball high over wide long-on for a much-needed maximum.

Corbin Bosch produces a brilliant yorker to dismiss Dhruv Jurel and put Rajasthan Royals in further trouble. The ball tails back in sharply at pace and Jurel tries to work it towards the leg side. However, he closes the face of the bat too early and is beaten by the movement and angle as the delivery crashes into the off stump. Jurel departs after scoring 38 off 26 balls.

Dhruv Jurel takes charge against AM Ghazanfar in the over that bring Rajasthan Royals 15 runs. Jurel starts with a powerful straight boundary and follows it with a fine paddle shot for another four. After a brief mix-up scare for a single, he picks a flighted delivery and smashes it over mid-wicket for six. Ghazanfar ends the over with a dot ball to Donovan Ferreira, but RR keep the scoreboard moving.

Rajasthan Royals lose Dasun Shanaka in a mix-up with Dhruv Jurel. Jurel pushes the ball behind point and initially calls for a quick single, with Shanaka responding immediately. However, Jurel suddenly stops and turns back after taking a few steps, leaving Shanaka stranded halfway down the pitch. Both batters ended up at the striker’s end as the throw came in. Corbin Bosch fumbled at first but recovered in time to break the stumps and catch Shanaka well short.

Allah Ghazanfar picks up another wicket as Riyan Parag’s quick start comes to an end. Parag, who had already hit a six and a four in the over, tried to attack another length ball outside off. The shot looked well-timed, but Tilak Varma was placed unusually straight at long-on near the boundary ropes and completed a fine catch near the ropes to send Parag back.

However, he failed to middle the shot and instead sliced it towards backward point, where Naman Dhir ran in to complete the catch.

Will Jacks gives Mumbai Indians an important breakthrough as Yashasvi Jaiswal mistimes a shot straight to point. Bowling at 89 kph, Jacks kept the ball on a teasing length outside off and drew Jaiswal into playing from the crease. Instead of clearing the infield, the shot went aerial towards Corbin Bosch, who completed a safe catch.

Yashasvi Jaiswal put Deepak Chahar under pressure in the over with a six and a four. He first picked a slower knuckle ball in the slot and launched it over long-off for a maximum. A couple of balls later, Chahar overpitched again and Jaiswal drove it firmly through deep extra cover for four. Rajasthan Royals kept the scoring rate moving in the early overs.

Mumbai Indians went up in a loud appeal for LBW and decided to review after the on-field umpire turned it down. Ball-tracking showed the delivery was pitching in line and going on to clip the top of middle stump, but the decision stayed with umpire’s call. Jaiswal survived narrowly, while MI managed to keep their review.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi nearly added a six to his tally early in the innings, but Will Jacks pulled off a superb save near the boundary. The RR opener went hard at a full delivery outside off from Deepak Chahar and looked set to clear deep extra cover. However, Jacks timed his jump well, pushed the ball back into play while losing balance, and prevented a six with an excellent effort in the heat. Rajasthan could only take a single.
