... THE RUN CHASE ...
Rashid shines as England leak runs late - England started well with the ball, with Curran and Holder striking early, while Overton also picked up a wicket in his first over. But they could not contain the Windies onslaught through the middle overs, except for Adil Rashid, who was brilliant with figures of 4-0-16-2. However, Rashid's drop of Rutherford may have cost them a few more towards the end. Overton did add another to his tally, but the pacers were taken apart at the death, making the job for the batters a tough one now. However, England still have enough firepower and quality, and we are in for an exciting chase. Join us in a bit for the second essay.
Windies rebuild and explode - Despite a couple of early setbacks, Rutherford continued his good form with a brisk cameo as the Windies reached 55 for 3 at the end of the Powerplay. However, Sherfane Rutherford was at the heart of the effort, smashing it all around the park to finish unbeaten on 76 off 42, his highest T20I score. Rutherford put on a couple of fifty-plus partnerships, first with Powell and then with Holder, whose quickfire 33 off 17 played a key role, while Chase also showed his value with the bat by steadying things after the early loss of wickets.
West Indies finish with a flourish - A power-packed batting display from West Indies, exactly what they are known for in this format. There were a few tricky phases, but they muscled their way through them and finished strongly, smashing 29 runs off the last two overs. England's death bowling has come back to haunt them again, and it will be a stiff target to chase with no signs of dew as yet.
