Katey Martin joins him and expresses that it swings more than any other wickets that we have seen being used this tournament, and spins less. Mentions that wicket-to-wicket will create opportunities with swing on offer in the first few overs.

19:21 (IST) Jan 15

Sophie Ecclestone of UP Warriorz is up for a quick chat. She says that games are coming thick and fast, but it is exciting to play against Mumbai Indians. Reckons that her side showed great fight in the last game and hopes to show the same fight tonight. Mentions she is looking forward to going up against her England teammate, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and says that it's always a fun battle against her.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of Mumbai Indians, says it is a great feeling to perform for the team and hopes it continues. Informs they have one change - Nat Sciver-Brunt is back for Hayley Matthews. Adds that Nicola Carey is contributing with both bat and ball, she is in form and hence keeps her place. 19:06 (IST) Jan 15

UP Warriorz skipper, Meg Lanning says they are going to bowl first as that has worked in the tournament. Informs that they are unchanged as they feel that gives them the best chance on this wicket. Mumbai Indians Women vs UP Warriorz Women Live: Deepti’s role under scrutiny
UP Warriorz may need to rethink how they are utilising Deepti Sharma. Despite her experience and success in Indian conditions, her role has been limited so far.

Against Delhi Capitals, Deepti walked in at No. 9 in the final over, a match after scoring an unbeaten 45. With the ball, she was held back until the 15th over but made an immediate impact, dismissing an in-form Lizelle Lee and finishing with 2 for 26 from three overs. In the opening game as well, she bowled only three overs.

With Navi Mumbai surfaces beginning to show signs of wear and offering assistance to slower bowlers, UPW could benefit from involving Deepti more prominently, both with bat and ball.

MI vs UPW Live Score: Impactful Amanjot
Among Mumbai Indians’ star-studded lineup, Amanjot Kaur has continued to make telling contributions.

In the opening game against RCB, she delivered a controlled spell, returning figures of 1 for 18 from three overs. Against Gujarat Giants, she endured a tougher outing with the ball, conceding 48 runs, but responded with a crucial innings, scoring 40 off 26 balls.

Her knock played a key role in a 72-run partnership with Harmanpreet Kaur that swung the match MI’s way. Amanjot’s ability to influence games even when one discipline does not go to plan has added balance to the side and strengthened MI’s middle order as the tournament progresses.

MI vs UPW Live Score: Mumbai’s selection headache
Mumbai Indians find themselves dealing with a problem most teams would welcome: too many in-form players.

Nicola Carey has contributed with both bat and ball, Hayley Matthews made an immediate impact on her return from injury, Amelia Kerr has been consistent with the ball, and Shabnim Ismail has delivered control and pace across all three matches.

With Nat Sciver-Brunt set to return after missing the previous game due to illness, MI will have to decide which overseas player sits out.

The dilemma highlights the depth and balance of the squad. MI’s ability to rotate quality allrounders without losing intensity has been a key factor behind their strong start and places them in a commanding position heading into this contest.

MI W vs UPW W, WPL Live Score: UPW struggle for stability
UP Warriorz continue to grapple with unresolved issues, particularly with the bat.

While their bowlers showed fight against Delhi Capitals, the batting again failed to capitalise, leaving the side short of a competitive total. Meg Lanning led from the front with a fluent half-century against her former franchise, but support around her was limited as wickets fell in clusters.

A tactical gamble also backfired, with Harleen Deol retired out for 47 before UPW lost four wickets for just 11 runs.

Three matches in, the batting order still looks unsettled, with Kiran Navgire persisting at the top despite repeated low scores.

With no gap between matches and the league stage moving quickly, UPW face urgent questions as they try to arrest their slide.

Mumbai Indians Women vs UP Warriorz Women Live: Hello & welcome
Welcome to The Times of India's live coverage of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) clash between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz in Navi Mumbai.

UPW enter this contest under pressure, three games into the season and still searching for their first win. There have been brief positives, particularly with the ball against Delhi Capitals, but persistent batting issues have left them playing catch-up in every match.

Mumbai Indians, in contrast, arrive in strong form, chasing a third straight victory and looking settled across departments. With several overseas stars in rhythm and Indian players stepping up, MI appear to have momentum on their side. As the tournament moves at pace, this fixture could prove decisive for UPW’s campaign.

Stay with us for ball-by-ball updates, key moments, tactical calls, and analysis as the action unfolds.
Harleen Deol bounced back from the disappointment of being retired out with a match-winning half century 24 hours later as UP Warriorz downed defending champions Mumbai Indians by seven wickets for their first victory of WPL 2026 here on Thursday.
Nat-Sciver Brunt (65 off 43 balls) batted with the brute force she is known for to lift Mumbai Indians to 161 for five after a rather ordinary first half of the innings.

Harleen (64 not out off 39), who was retired out on Wednesday despite batting well, proved a point by anchoring UPW's run chase to perfection.

It was the first success of the season for UPW in four games while Mumbai Indians suffered their second loss in four matches.
