WPL 2026 Final Live Score: What they said at the toss

The Smriti Mandhana-led RCB is the defending champions while the Delhi-based franchise has reached its fourth consecutive final in WPL history.

Smriti Mandhana said RCB would field the same XI. "We'd like to field first today. That's been the trend in the tournament. We are playing with the same XI. (On the break) It's been brilliant. We had a good time off. The last two-three days, we came back together and practised together. We've all discussed the challenge. Nothing changes for us today. The excitement level is high."

Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues said that losing the toss in big games is better. "It's better to lose the toss in such big games. We are going with the same team. We've kept it very simple, kept our plans simple. We played the Eliminator here, so we know what it's going to be like."

RCB vs DC Live Score: Head-to-head record
Delhi Capitals had the upper hand in the early phase of this rivalry, winning the first four meetings between the two sides. Royal Challengers Bengaluru responded in the 2024 final, defeating DC to secure their first title. The teams will now face each other in a final for the second time. Overall, DC lead the head-to-head record 6-3 and were also the side that ended RCB’s five-match winning run this season.

For Jemimah Rodrigues, the final carries extra significance. She was dismissed for a duck in the 2024 final and will be looking to put that behind her by making an impact as DC push for their maiden title.

RCB vs DC Live Score: Smriti Mandhana praises RCB uncapped players
Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Smriti Mandhana has spoken about the role of uncapped players in the team this season, saying their performances have added depth and balance ahead of the Women’s Premier League 2026 final against Delhi Capitals.

Talking about the contribution of young players, Mandhana pointed to a few moments that stood out during the season. “Gautami becoming the first uncapped player to score a fifty was extremely nice to see. Prema has also really impressed me. She hasn't got a lot of opportunities with us because of the team combination, but she's a gun fielder, an extremely nice leg-spinner, and a very handy batter as well. Whenever I see her bowl in the nets, she's really impressed me,” Mandhana said, as quoted by RCB.

Mandhana also spoke about Delhi Capitals’ Nandini Sharma, who is the leading wicket-taker for the team this season, and recalled her time with RCB as a net bowler.

RCB vs DC Live Score: The final hurdle
After 27 days and 21 matches, marked by repeated shifts in momentum, the WPL has reached its final stop. One match remains. The result will crown one side champion and leave the other side reflecting on what might have been, with little comfort drawn from the journey that led here or the potential that lies ahead.

On one side stand Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They surged ahead of the pack early, setting the pace from the outset. There were a few setbacks along the way, but each time they responded with performances that underlined their title credentials.

Opposite them are the Delhi Capitals. Their campaign began unevenly, but they gathered momentum as the tournament progressed. They know this stage well, having reached the final before, but this time they arrive with the hope of changing the ending.

Once again, as they had in the previous three editions, they will have an opportunity. An opportunity to make history, to see their name at the top, to move past unfinished business, and to finally get the result they have been chasing.

"Hopefully, it happens for Delhi this time around. This is the fourth season of the TATA WPL, and the Delhi Capitals have been the most consistent team. Finals have been the one big hurdle they've yet to cross, that perhaps be down to nerves, preparation, or execution on the day. But this is a golden opportunity. They're playing under a new captain, the atmosphere in the team is very good, and I thought Delhi would be the first team to qualify, even though they had to take a different route this year. The way they performed in the eliminator, I feel they have all the bases covered. On paper, Delhi Capitals looks like a stronger team than the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They have a lot of options. Anything could happen in the final; both teams are very strong. Let's see who wins the battle between the two best friends," former India cricketer Saba Karim said.

RCB W vs DC W, WPL Final Live Score: Delhi chase first WPL title
Delhi Capitals step into the final with a familiar objective: breaking their title jinx. Despite finishing runners-up in all three previous editions, the franchise has once again assembled a squad capable of going the distance. Under Jemimah Rodrigues’ leadership, the Capitals have relied on a strong bowling foundation, particularly with the new ball. Chinelle Henry and Nandani Sharma have consistently provided early breakthroughs, setting up matches from the outset.

With the bat, signs of cohesion have emerged at the right time. Lizelle Lee played a key role in the Eliminator, while Shafali Verma rediscovered rhythm in a half-century stand alongside the South African. Laura Wolvaardt has been the stabilising presence at the top order throughout the season.

The Capitals’ South African core, including Wolvaardt and Kapp, has brought continuity and composure, forged through years of playing together. That understanding could prove decisive as Delhi attempt to convert another final appearance into their first WPL title when the match begins at 7:30 pm.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women vs Delhi Capitals Women Live: RCB rely on depth, resilience
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s campaign has been defined by adaptability and collective contribution. While batters such as Mandhana, Harris, Georgia Voll and Richa Ghosh have not always produced in unison, isolated innings at key moments have kept the side on course.

Grace Harris’ 75 against UP Warriorz in the previous match stood out, especially after an uneven season, while Gautami Naik’s 73 against Gujarat Giants proved pivotal in a 61-run win earlier in the tournament.

The bowling unit has provided balance. Nadine de Klerk enters the final as the third-highest wicket-taker of the season with 15 wickets from eight matches, including a best of 4 for 22. Shreyanka Patil adds control and penetration through spin, highlighted by her five-wicket haul against Gujarat Giants. Pace bowlers Sayali Satghare and Lauren Bell have also delivered during pressure situations.

Skipper Smriti Mandhana will be aiming to guide RCB to a second WPL title, which would draw the franchise level with Mumbai Indians in overall success.

RCB vs DC Live Score: Star power defines WPL final
The WPL 2026 final brings together a lineup of players who have shaped the season in different ways.

On the Indian front, the contest features Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues for Delhi Capitals, matched against Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The South African influence is equally prominent, with Marizanne Kapp and Laura Wolvaardt anchoring the Capitals, while Nadine de Klerk shoulders major responsibility for Mandhana's RCB.

Among the quieter contributors, Chinelle Henry has emerged as a key figure for Delhi Capitals. Her three-wicket spell in the Eliminator played a decisive role in setting up the final berth, even if it drew less attention than the top-order runs. For RCB, Grace Harris has taken on an expanded role in the absence of Ellyse Perry, becoming the side’s primary powerplay aggressor and providing momentum at crucial stages.

Threaded between the established names are players who have stepped up when required, shaping a final that reflects both reputation and opportunity.

RCB vs DC Live Score: RCB, DC set for title clash
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals arrive at the WPL final following contrasting but equally compelling journeys.

RCB have enjoyed a strong season marked by resilience and recovery, becoming the first team in league history to open a campaign with five consecutive wins. Even when consistency with the bat has been elusive, timely contributions have ensured they stayed ahead of opponents.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have once again found their way into the final through a combination of bowling discipline and improving batting cohesion. Under new skipper Jemimah Rodrigues, the Capitals have leaned heavily on their pace attack, with Chinelle Henry and Nandani Sharma setting the tone early in innings. Nandani’s 16 wickets have made her the second-highest wicket-taker of the season, strengthening her case for higher honours.

RCB vs DC Live Score: Hello & welcome
The Women’s Premier League 2026 reaches its final chapter on Thursday as Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the summit clash at Vadodara.

Delhi Capitals enter their fourth straight WPL final still searching for a maiden title, having finished runners-up in each of the previous three editions. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, meanwhile, are chasing history of a different kind, aiming to clinch their second WPL title.

The final brings together two sides that have been among the most watchable teams of the season, blending star power with depth. With marquee Indian batters, high-impact overseas allrounders, and bowling attacks that have delivered at key moments, the stage is set for a closely contested finale. The match begins at 7:30 pm, with both teams aware of the weight of history attached to the outcome.
The RCB batting unit, including Mandhana, Harris, Georgia Voll and Richa Ghosh, has not been consistent across the season, but timely contributions have often been enough. In the bowling department, pacers Nadine de Klerk and Sayali Satghare have delivered important spells.

Delhi’s batting has also shown improvement in recent matches. Lizelle Lee contributed at the top in the Eliminator against Gujarat Giants, while Shafali Verma found form and added a half-century stand with Lee. Laura Wolvaardt has provided stability at the top order through the season.

With both batting and bowling influenced by South African players, the Capitals have benefited from a group that has played together for several years. That understanding could help them in the final as they look to end their title wait under Rodrigues, who will be hoping for a strong performance after a quiet season so far.
