RCB W vs UPW W Highlights, WPL 2026: Grace Harris blitz leads RCB past Warriorz

STRATEGIC BREAK! Within the Powerplay, RCB have chalked down more than half the runs of their target. They are on course for a massive victory, which will do the world of good to their net run rate. So far, the bowlers of UP Warriorz have found no answers to this onslaught and have been all over the place. No offence to the UP bowlers, but Grace Harris is literally treating this attack as if she's in a net practice session. Can the Warriorz conjure up a wicket? For that, Lanning has tossed the ball to her trump card, Sophie Ecclestone.

Welcome back for RCB's reply. Meg Lanning and her troops disperse from the huddle and take the field. It will be the left-hand, right-hand combination of Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris to open the innings for Bengaluru. Mandhana has had her struggles against off spin in the past, so it is no surprise that Deepti Sharma is opening the attack. It will be Harris on strike, though. Here we go!

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, 144 is what Royal Challengers Bengaluru need to make it two wins from two. They have gone in with an extra specialist batter tonight in Gautami Naik. UP Warriorz will know this is still a relatively inexperienced RCB batting unit, and if they can strike early, they can build from there. Back in a bit for the second essay.

Shreyanka Patil of Royal Challengers Bengaluru is in for a chat. Shreyanka says she is grateful to be back on the field, adding that she loves playing cricket and is happy to be representing RCB again. She mentions that Smriti Mandhana initially brought her on with the plan of dismissing Phoebe, but she ended up getting Meg Lanning instead. She says she applied herself well and that her plans were clear. Talking about her bowling, Shreyanka explains that with the shorter leg-side boundary against Deandra Dottin, she was targeting wide yorkers. She feels her planning was better, though she admits she could have executed it better. She is pleased with the team effort in restricting the opposition to under 150 and hopes they can go on to chase the target down.

After being kept quiet in the Powerplay, UPW tried to go hard through the middle phase, but it didn’t come off. In the blink of an eye, they slipped from 39/1 to 50/5. Deandra Dottin and Deepti Sharma, two of the most experienced all-rounders in the game, then came together and arrested the slide with a 72-ball 93-run stand. After having a stranglehold with the ball for much of the innings, RCB let UPW off the hook in the closing overs with their discipline not quite as sharp as it had been earlier.

A good recovery from the UP Warriorz. 76 runs in the first 14 overs, but 67 off the last 6 have taken them to a competitive total of 143. Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be slightly disappointed at the finish, but they would have taken this total at the start of the night. Earlier, after opting to bowl first, Lauren Bell asked all the tough questions with the new ball in the Powerplay, just as she did on the opening night. The decision to drop Kiran Navgire down the order and open with Meg Lanning and Harleen Deol didn’t quite work out the way the Warriorz would have hoped.
