Australia on the other hand did not look like the Australian team we have seen in the past. With a few drop catches and fast bowlers providing too much width, it was not easy for Steven Smith to contain the Sri Lankan batters at the crease. They started well in the first 10 overs but the spinners did not capitalize and failed to pick up wickets in the middle overs. Now they stand on a run chase of 281 runs in 50 overs in front of a brilliant spin attack of Sri Lanka. Let's see what goes down in the Second Innings. Stay tuned for the Run Chase!

Sri Lanka started off with the early wicket of Pathum Nissanka. The younster, Nishan Madushka and Kusal Mendis then stitched up a good partnership where Nishan Madushka played the second fiddle and Kusal Mendis took care of the scoring. The youngster made a well-composed half-century and was sent back by a brilliant catch by Adam Zampa at fine leg. Kusal Mendis went on to score his fifth ODI Hundred with a few wickets falling around him till the time, the skipper Charith Asalanka came to the crease. It was then the brilliance of Charith Asalanka to take his team to 281 in 50 overs.

Sri Lanka finished on a high and it's the skipper once again, Charith Asalanka leading his side to a brilliant score of 281/4 on a wicket that has a lot for the spinners. Charith Asalanka walks away not out on 78 and the Australia team has no answers to his batting in this ODI series. With a brilliant hundred from Kusal Mendis after a good start from the youngster Nishan Madushka who scored his 51, Sri Lanka looks ahead in the game after the end of the first innings.
