... The Run Chase ...

With a massive target set by Gujarat, the visitors face a daunting task in their pursuit of victory. However, the pitch appears to be a solid batting surface, offering hope that the home side can mount a successful chase. As we head into the second half of the match, the question on everyone's mind is, can UP pull off an incredible comeback and chase down this imposing target? The answer will be revealed as the chase unfolds.

UP's bowling attack failed to impress, struggling to contain Gujarat's batters. The team's fielding efforts were also subpar, allowing the opposition to capitalize on their mistakes. In terms of wickets, Sophie Ecclestone was the most successful bowler for UP, claiming two scalps. Kranti Goud, Chinelle Henry, and Deepti Sharma each took one wicket apiece. Interestingly, Gouher Sultana, who was included in the side as a bowler, did not get a chance to bowl a single over. The presence of Beth Mooney in the middle may have influenced Deepti Sharma's decision to hold back Sultana, opting for alternative bowling options instead.

After being put in to bat, Gujarat took a cautious approach initially, taking time to adjust to the pitch conditions. However, they shifted gears after the 5th over, unleashing a flurry of big shots. Beth Mooney was the star of the show, playing a scintillating knock that fell just short of a century. She received able support from her opening partner Harleen Deol, who played a solid inning. Deandra Dottin also made a significant contribution, playing a crucial cameo that added valuable runs to Gujarat's total

We've reached the midway point of the match, and Gujarat have set a magnificent target, largely thanks to the batting exploits of Beth Mooney. Mooney's exceptional innings has propelled Gujarat to a strong tota of 186, setting up an intriguing second half of the match.
