Former two-time welterweight world champion Shawn Porter recently gave boxing fans an unexpected and touching update. "The other two, I think they're gonna move on into some other things," Porter says, "But, this baby right here, he might be a scrapper." He claimed that although others could support and put gloves on his kids, he would like to be the one to coach them.

Shawn Porter believes that only he can coach his son, just as his father, Kenny Porter, did for him in his younger days, but he is delighted that his son will carry the torch into the future. Porter, who’s also known as Showtime, rose through the amateur and professional boxing ranks with the help of his father, Kenny Porter, who trained him as a coach in his initial stages and managed him for his entire 13-year career.

"I saw my dad give me to other people, and then, hey, I need him back, so I would definitely allow other people to put the gloves on my sons and work with them, but I'd be the only one coaching them," states Shawn Porter.
