Ariarne Titmus has shared an emotional message about life after retirement. The Olympic champion stepped away from competitive swimming after an 18 year long and successful career. She enjoyed her journey in the pool and became one of Australia’s finest swimmers.

In her message, she explained that for the first time since childhood, competition is no longer on her mind. She said she feels thankful that her move away from sport has been smooth overall. However, she admitted that small moments still bring emotional reactions. Saying goodbye to something that shaped her life was not easy. She described 2025 as a rewarding year and said she is excited to see what 2026 will bring. She also thanked her family, friends, and her boyfriend, Mack Powell, for their support.

Ariarne Titmus officially announced her retirement on October 16.
In her recent Instagram post, she reflected on her dreams, achievements, and long journey in the sport.
She wrote that she had spent 18 years competing in the pool. Ten of those years were spent representing Australia on the world stage. She reminded herself that she competed at two Olympic Games and achieved victories beyond her childhood dreams. She spoke about the lifelong friendships she made and said she achieved more than she ever imagined. She expressed pride in everything she accomplished.
Titmus also acknowledged the people who supported her throughout her career. She mentioned her coaches, including one who played a very special role. She said every one of them helped shape her journey.
She explained that at 25 years old, the moment felt right to step away. The demands of elite swimming were intense, and she gave everything she had to the sport. Now enjoying life away from competition, Ariarne Titmus has embraced her new chapter. She was recently seen enjoying a date with her boyfriend, Powell, as she continues to adjust to life beyond the pool.
