Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle silence breakup buzz while Theodora Petalas questions her rising tennis power
This shift became more interesting when Theodora Petalas spoke about it. She shared her thoughts on the “What’s The Call?” podcast along with co-host Andrea Jimenez. Rather than focusing only on the rumors, they looked at how Riddle has built her own space in the tennis world.
Theodora Petalas explains why Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle’s dynamic still matters in tennis
Andrea Jimenez first pointed out how Morgan Riddle herself reacted online. She said, “Morgan Riddle commented on this post (rumored breakup between her and Fritz) and said, ‘Taylor, have you heard about this?’”
That one line was enough to calm a lot of the noise. But Petalas added another layer to the discussion. She mentioned a moment from the “Nothing Major” podcast, which is hosted by former American players like John Isner, Sam Querrey, Jack Sock, and Steve Johnson.
Petalas explained, “There’s no smoke without fire and we have no proof of this. But then, I was listening to another podcast where they did influencer power rankings. Whenever those specific people were mentioned, they said a girlfriend of ‘x’ player, but when they spoke about Morgan, they did not say that.”
Petalas then made her point very clear. She said, “I think Morgan, all credit to her, she’s totally built a role for herself in the sport. And no doubt she’ll hang around even if not as Taylor’s girlfriend. So, we’ll be keeping an eye on Taylor’s box.”
Even on the “Nothing Major” podcast, Sam Querrey kept it simple and direct. He said, “Number four in the (influencer) power rankings list is Morgan Riddle. Yeah, Morgan Riddle’s on that list. She has been influencing now for quite some time and we see her at a lot of tournaments all over the world.”
On the court, Taylor Fritz last played at the Miami Open, where he reached the fourth round. Since then, he has been dealing with a right knee issue, and there is still no clear return date.
